Feb 18 – St. Pio Daily – In the Garden

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

Ave Maria!February’s Theme: The Will of God

“In the Garden of Olives, Jesus asked the Father to be relieved, but knowing that the Father did not want to grant it to Him, (he) did not think of it anymore, nor did he make haste to ask Him, but-as if He never expected it from Him-pronounced His fiat. It was a fiat that, pronounced with superlatively great strength, brought Him to sweat a great abundance of blood, and to immediately, valiantly, and courageously undertake the work of our salvation. Imitate Jesus also in this.”

Feb 17 – St. Pio Daily – Great Abandonment

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

Ave Maria!February’s Theme: The Will of God

“When you are placed in affliction, imagine that you must never again leave such a state, and (then) begin your sanctification on the cross. Think of that great abandonment that Jesus suffered in the Garden of Olives.”

Feb 16 – St. Pio Daily – A Kiss Without a Betrayal

Monday, February 16th, 2009

Ave Maria!February’s Theme: The Will of God

“The way to kiss Jesus without betraying Him, to embrace Him in our arms without imprisoning Him; the manner of giving Him the kiss and embrace of grace and of love that He expects from us and that He promises to render unto us is, says St. Bernard, to serve Him with true affection and to fulfill with holy works the celestial doctrines that we profess with our words.”

Feb 15 – St. Pio Daily – Live in This Valley

Sunday, February 15th, 2009

Ave Maria!February’s Theme: The Will of God

“Live-for as long as it pleases God-in this valley of miseries with a total submission to His holy Will. Live tranquilly; rest your hearts sweetly in the Will of God. Oh, God! How much we are indebted to this divine and amiable goodness of Yours, that You have made us desire with so much ardor to live and die in Your grace.”

Feb 14 – St. Pio Daily – Molded by God, for God

Saturday, February 14th, 2009

Ave Maria!February’s Theme: The Will of God

“Behold the condition with which we must give ourselves to God: that from henceforth He does His Will in us and that He destroys ours (our will) as He pleases. Oh, how happy are those whom God molds according to His Will, and whom He trains, either with tribulations or with consolations. The true servants of God have always esteemed adversity more as the most conformable to the path trodden by our Head, Who worked our salvation by means of the cross and of disgraces.”

Feb 13 – St. Pio Daily – The Present Trial

Friday, February 13th, 2009

Ave Maria!February’s Theme: The Will of God

“Accept the present trial with a joyful and serene spirit, and do not be too desirous of being freed from it. Humble yourself under the powerful hand of God, accepting with submission and with patience the tribulations that He sends you, so that He can exalt you when He visits you by giving you His grace.”

Feb 12 – St. Pio Daily – Helmsman and Star

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

Ave Maria!February’s Theme: The Will of God

“ ‘Fiat voluntas tua sicut in cælo et in terra.’ May this beautiful exclamation be always in your heart and on your lips in all the events of your life. Repeat it in afflictions; repeat it in the temptations and in the trials to which Jesus will want to subject you; repeat it still while you feel yourself immersed in the ocean of the love of Jesus. It will be your anchor and your salvation. Do not fear the enemy; he will not launch anything against the small ship of your spirit, because the helmsman is Jesus and the star is Mary.”

Feb 11 – St. Pio Daily – Obedience to the End

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

Ave Maria!February’s Theme: The Will of God

“Always keep before your mind’s eyes the obedience of Jesus in the garden and on the Cross: it was with immense contrast and without relief, but He obeyed unto lamenting with the Apostles and with His Father; and his obedience was excellent, and the more bitter it was, all-the-more beautiful it was. Never, therefore, was your soul as acceptable to God as it is now that you obey and serve Him in aridity and blindly.”

Feb 10 – St. Pio Daily – The Obedient Soul is Victorious

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Ave Maria!February’s Theme: The Will of God

“Continue to obey, notwithstanding the internal contrasts, without the comfort that there is in obedience and in the spiritual life because it is written that who obeys must not keep count of his actions; and you must only await the loquetur victoriam reward from God, and not the chastisement. ‘Vir obediens’ says the Holy Spirit ‘’: the obedient soul will sing victory.”

Feb 9 – St. Pio Daily – The Dolorous Pilgrimmage

Monday, February 9th, 2009

Ave Maria!February’s Theme: The Will of God

“I have understood well […] that your Calvary becomes even more dolorous/painful/sorrowful. But I think that on Calvary Jesus worked our redemption, and on Calvary the salvation of the redeemed souls must be fulfilled. Try, therefore, to conform yourself always and in all things to the Will of God in every event, and do not fear. This conformity is the sure way to arrive in Heaven.”

Feb 8 – St. Pio Daily – Direct Your Affections to God

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

Ave Maria!February’s Theme: The Will of God

“Always keep your affections subordinate to this Most High Father and beware of nurturing any [affection], whatever it may be, that is not marked with the seal of the Heavenly King. Do not love, if possible, the Will of God because it is conformable to your will, but love yours when it will be conformable to that of God’s.”

Feb 7 – St. Pio Daily – No One Else

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

Ave Maria!February’s Theme: The Will of God

“Jesus loves you; He wants you all for Himself. Therefore, do not have any other arms to carry yourself in but His, nor another bosom where to rest but His and His providence. Do not glance around elsewhere nor rest your spirit in others except in Him. Keep your will so simply united to His that between you and Him nothing whatsoever will be an obstacle.”

Feb 6 – St. Pio Daily – God’s Path is Not Always My Path

Friday, February 6th, 2009

Ave Maria!February’s Theme: The Will of God

“Do not pay attention to the path you are on…but always submit yourself to the Will of God, and do not believe that you would serve Him better in another state of life, because one does not serve well if not serving Him as He wants.”

Feb 4,5 – St. Pio Daily – The Divine Will

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

Ave Maria!February’s Theme: The Will of God

Feb 4 – “The total offering of our will is too arduous, but let us remind ourselves that the Divine Master, when addressing in our name the words of the Pater to His Father: “Thy will be done”, saw very well in His divine mind how difficult it would be for us to succeed in that which He promised His Father in our name. The Good Jesus measured all too well with His divine eye the immensity of our weakness, which very often- in order to evade the Will of God – invents or, more accurately, pretends not to know It.”

Feb 5 – “Try to always be ready and prepared to do the Divine Will, which is always aimed at the glory of God and the good of our souls. Oh, how sweet is the thought: to do in all things the Divine Will! May the Good Jesus make you experience the most beautiful effects of It.”

Feb 3 – St. Pio Daily – Complete Offering

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Ave Maria!February’s Theme: The Will of God

“Let us offer to God our will with that same sentiment with which our Divine Master offered it for us to His Father. Let us offer it to Him, and may it be a complete offering, and what is more, may it be so in the practice of our lives. Let us not do as those children who, after having given the gift of a jewel, immediately- or almost immediately- repent of the offer made and ask for it back with tears; otherwise, our offering would be derisive.”
