Bishop David Ricken of the Diocese of Green Bay gives the homily at this year’s Coredemption Conference at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, WI on Oct 15. He gives a history of the apparition of Our Lady of Good Help which occurred in Champion, WI in 1859 and was recently approved by Bp. Ricken himself. He relates this to Our Lady of Guadalupe and the doctrine of Mary as Coredemptrix.

For the introduction to our Symposium “Mother of the Church” on Marian Coredemption at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, La Crosse, Wisconsin on August 21, 2010, Fr. Peter Fehlner, Mariologist and rector of the shrine, gives a formal introduction to the symposium. He explains the title of the symposium “Mother of the Church” and what it means to call Mary this, relating it to the 8th Chapter of Lumen Gentium of Vatican II and the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe and then gives a logical outline of the upcoming talks and how they relate to the prerogatives of Mary as Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate.

Drew Mariani of Relevant Radio was MC of the symposium.

Here are the highlights from the beautiful Mass of Pentecost at the Marian Conference in La Crosse, Celebrated by Fr. Peter Fehlner, Fr. Pablo Straub, Fr. Thomas Euteneur, Fr. Jacinto Chapin and Fr.  Joseph Hirsch and includes the Homily by Fr. Peter where he covers three points:

1. How the heart of the Celebration of Pentecost is the Annunciation.
2. Why it is called Pentecost and how it is connected to the six days of creation, the Sabbath and the giving of the Law.
3. Why Pentecost is 10 days from the Ascension and how this relates to the Jewish Jubilee and the Glory in which we will partake.
