Ave Maria!

Recently the renovations for the chapel at our friary in Bloomington, IN were completed with a full refurbishment of the Sanctuary.  It now has an altar rail, stained glass, and a new altar and rererdos suitable for the Traditional Latin Mass. Archbishop Daniel Mark Buechlein, O.S.B. performed the consecration ceremony. The ground breaking for the new friary, which occurred the same day, will be posted as a separate video.

FiNews – FI Solemn Requiem Mass Featured at NLM

Thursday, January 29th, 2009
Ave Maria!
The Franciscans of the Immaculate were featured on New Liturgical Movement today with the Traditional Requiem Mass celebrated on the anniversary of the death of Fr. Francis Maria Pompa, FI on January 24 who was a big advocate for the Extraordinary Form of the Mass in Italy. It was celebrated by our founder Fr. Stefano Manelli. Also the MC is none other than Fra Anthony Maria Servium who just departed last fall to Italy from the friary here in Griswold, CT, USA. He was instrumental in starting the extraordinary form of the Mass here in the United States. He is the MC in the video Sandals and Fiddlebacks. The full video of the mass in Italy can be seen on our scheduled video streaming site in Italy, TV Dell’Immacolata at 6-7:20pm for the next few days, at least if I’ve understood their schedule correctly.

Rinascimento Sacro shares some very edifying photos from a recent requiem Mass offered on January 24th at the Monastery of Murate in Città di Castello by the Franciscans of the Immaculate for the anniversary of the death of one of their friars.

The Franciscans of the Immaculate — founded by Pontifical Right by Pope John Paul II from what I can see — are not an order I have followed a great deal to date, but they would seem to be a group to keep more of a watch upon.

Roving Reporter #10 – Fr. Peter Fehlner on the Latin Mass (18min) >>> Play

Ave Maria!

We celebrated our first Traditional Latin Mass here at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel in Griswold, CT on Friday, Sept 14, feast of the Triumph of the Holy Cross 2007. The next morning Fr. Peter Fehlner gave an interview with the Roving Reporter on the subject. Okay, the Roving Reporter did not have to rove very far because it was filmed right on the front porch of the friary, but after the busy week we had even he needed a break. Listen as Fr. Peter explains that there are not two rites but only one which can be celebrated with some adaptations and that if the Novus Order is celebrated by the book then it is not much different from the traditional Latin Mass.

The evening of the same day of this interview we had our second Latin Mass and this we broadcast, live. You can view the comments here.
