Angelo preaches on today’s Gospel where Our Lord comes to the well in Samaria and converses with a women about the living water that he has and how anyone who drinks this water will not thirst again. Father highlights the fact that the spiritual water he is offering is different from the physical water in the well and infinitely more satisfying but uses His own physical thirst to lift up the woman from the physical to the spiritual realm. She, in turn, goes and gathers her own townspeople to Christ. This all sheds light on the wonder of the incarnation where the true God becomes true man in order for man to truly share in His divinity and to share in the work of spreading this truth.

Ave Maria!

“Click in” as Fr. Maximilian Mary recapitulates all that he has said thus far about the absolute primacy of Jesus Christ and prepares to launch into the subject of the mediation of grace and glory through the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. Having established the absolute primacy of Jesus Christ, the Cornerstone will show where Our Lady fits into God’s plan and what that means for our spiritual life.

For our Symposium “Mother of the Church” on Marian Coredemption in the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, La Crosse, Wisconsin on August 21, 2010, Luis Cardinal Aponte-Martinez, Archbishop Emeritus of San Juan, Puerto Rico gives the second talk titled “Our Lady of Guadalupe: The Coredemptrix and the New Evangelization”. Cardinal Aponte has been one of the most energetic promoters of the dogma of Mary as Coredemptrix. In this talk he uses his warm humor to draw connections between the great evangelization of the Americas through the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the promise of a similarly fruitful period of worldwide evangelization in our own time should we honor Mary by declaring the Fifth Dogma. By doing so we will fulfill the desire of Pope JPII for a New Evangelization. He says the fruit will be the reconversion of formerly Christian lands beck to the faith, the conversion of new Christian lands, Christians will be united in humility and the world will have peace all as only a mother can give. He points out that by declaring the Fifth Dogma of Mary as Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate we are declaring her Mother of the Church and Mother of all Peoples and so we will obtain all the associated motherly spiritual gifts for the whole world. He gives a final exhortation for us to all go out and pray and be active in promoting the dogma to friends, family and even to our pastors and bishops.

Drew Mariani of Relevant Radio was MC of the symposium.

He tells us this in the form of two parables, the building of the tower and the king who contemplates going into battle. Fr. Bonaventure explains this in the context of Catholic action, where our preparation consists in building up our love of, and trust in, God who has forces vastly stronger than the enemy and that action starts with prayer and contemplation and only secondarily with physical action. Father also outlines the many ways that we are in true, open and explicit battle with the modern culture and philosophy, always relating it back to its spiritual nature.
Fr. Angelo Geiger preaches on today’s Gospel where Our Lord admonishes us to live a sacrificial, spiritual life and not be worried about things of this world. For as the Gospel states, the Lilies of the field which work not nor spin not are clothed by God more gloriously than Solomon. He points out that to not follow this basic spiritual discipline is to live inconsistently when so many follow harder discipline in the secular corporate world.
