Ave Maria!
During the “Knights of Lepanto Father and Sons Summer Encampment” a “Slip-n-Slide” is set up to cool down.
The Knights of Holy Mary Victrix at Lepanto is a specific group for men only within the Mission of the Immaculate Mediatrix (MIM). The MIM is the Roman Catholic public association of the faithful, founded by Fr. Stefano M. Manelli and attached to the religious institute that he also founded, the Franciscans of the Immaculate. The spirituality of the MIM is unlimited consecration to Mary according to the teaching of St. Maximilian Mary Kolbe. Thus, the Knights of Lepanto is a group of men who are formed to live consecration to Mary in a masculine way.

Homily #100314 ( 17min) Play – Today is Laetare Sunday, the Fourth Sunday in Lent, which is like Gaudete Sunday in Advent, a day of joy in the midst of a season of penance. Common to both these days are the joyful rose vestments and Fr. Bonaventure relates this to the Gospel of the day which is the parable of of the Prodigal Son and how the son is robed in festive vestments due to the father’s joy in the return of his wayward son. Fr. Bonaventure highlights the importance of repentance if we fall and how all penance leads to joy if we persevere to the end.

Ave Maria!
Pierluigi Molla is the son of Saint Gianna Molla who died in 1962 after giving birth to his little sister. St. Gianna developed a fibroma in her uterus during the second month of her pregnancy which required immediate surgery to save her, but since it would certainly terminate her pregnancy she put it off to save her child. Despite the best efforts of the doctors they could not save the heroic mother.
Pierluigi came to Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine in La Crosse, WI to give a pro-life talk on the first anniversary of the opening of the Shrine. While he was there he graciously consented to an interview with Fr. Peter, the rector of the shrine, and shares his memories of his mother and his thoughts on what her life gave witness to.

Homily #080705 ( 11min) Play – At this funeral Mass for Thom and Marc Girard at St. Mary’s Church in Baltic we learn of the power of faith in the resurrection to give hope in the face of such loss. Thom was faithful to God and family, truly living his vocation as Father, husband and Knight of Lepanto and imbued this faith to his family. Marc, Thom’s eldest son, received from this faith the desire to give himself to God as a Knight of Lepanto and as a friar here in the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate, planning on entering this August. Through this faith he had the strength to try to save his Father and his family had the strength to endure this tragedy with calm and hopeful joy. Fr. Angelo reads part of the Knights of Lepanto induction ceremony which Thom wrote (really a first draft) knowing that his son Marc will be the first to go through the new ceremony last May at the Knight’s Encampment. Farewell, good knights. Farewell, good friends.
