Video – Greatest Marian Message of 20th Century – Dr. Miravalle: Mcasts75

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

Click to Play Video

MaryCast Specials #75 ( 10min) Play – Dr. Mark Miravalle explains how the message of the Fatima apparition is the ‘Grandmother’ of Marian messages since all earlier apparitions look forward to Fatima and all subsequent ones look back to it.  He focuses on the quintessential message of Fatima that was given to Lucia on July 13th where Our Lady asks for prayers and reparation to save souls from Hell. The apparition continues with a vision of Hell and the suffering of souls there and then a prophecy of the end of World War I, then the Russian Revolution, the spread of Communism, World War II and the annihilation of whole nations. The apparition ends with her request to consecrate Russia to her Heart, do the 1st Saturday devotions and to say the Fatima Prayer at the end of each decade of the Rosary:

O my Jesus,
Forgive us ours sins,
save us from the fires of Hell,
lead all souls to Heaven,
especially those most in need of thy mercy.

Dr. Mark stresses that not all of these prophecies have come to past yet, especially the annihilation of nations. The best way to prevent this is to encourage more people to head her requests and to ask for the declaration of the 5th Marian Dogma.

Our Lady Of the Seven Sorrows – Kibeho

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

Kibeho is a small town in South Rwanda, in the current administrative district of Nyaruguru, 162 km from the country’s capital city, Kigali. Kibeho is also the name given to one of the parishes in the diocese of Gikongoro, founded in 1934 and dedicated to Mary, Mother of God. Today, Kibeho is best known as a place of pilgrimages and Marian apparitions, which have been recognized by the Church.

The apparitions of Kibeho began on November 28th, 1981, and came to an end on November 28th, 1989. Our Lady first appeared to Alphonsine Mumureke, a 16-year-old girl, while she was still in high school. Teachers and students found it difficult to believe her and many mocked her. However, some time later other young students also claimed to have had visions: Natalie Mukamazimpaka, a 17-year-old girl who saw the Our Lady for almost two years, beginning in January 1982; and 21-year-old Marie-Claire Mukamgango, to whom the Mary appeared from March to September 1982, giving her the mission of spreading the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows of the Virgin Mary throughout the Church. Four other people claim to have witnessed the apparitions; however, they have not been officially recognized by the Church.
In 1983, the apparitions were interrupted, and only Alphonsine continued to see the Our Lady each year on the 28th of November, until the year 1989.
To all these visionaries, Mary presented herself as the “Mother of the Word” (In the local language: “Nyina Wa Jambo”).

The message that Mary delivered in Kibeho is an urgent appeal to the world, a call for repentance and the conversion of hearts, for sincere prayer, a call to love and to live the faith intensely. But it is above all a call for reconciliation: Mary requests that sin be renounced; she deplores all forms of idolatry, lack of respect, materialism, hypocrisy and sexual immorality.

Mary calls on the world to change while there is still time, advising it against the serious consequences of its current moral state. On October 15th, 1982, the visions were frightful: flowing blood, people killing each other, abandoned dead bodies with no one to attend to the burial. These visions proved to be prophetic in view of the human dramas that took place in Rwanda and the Great Lakes Region between 1994 and 1995 during the civil and ethnic wars between the Hutus and Tutsis. Within only a few months, the genocide claimed 800,000 lives in Rwanda, among whom were 3 bishops and more than 400 priests and religious. Marie-Claire, one the visionaries, was also killed during the massacre.

On August 15th, 1988, Bishop Jean Baptiste Gahamanyi of the Diocese of Butare allowed public worship at the Marian Shrine of Kibeho, and named it “Our Lady of Sorrows”. On June 21st, 2001, the Holy See gave its approval.
Prayer to Our Lady of Sorrows

  • “This day you will be with Me in paradise.”
  • “Woman, behold your Son. Son, behold your Mother.”
  • “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
  • “I thirst.”
  • “It is finished.”
  • “Father, into Your hands I commend My spirit.”
  • The side of Jesus is pierced with a lance. His body is taken down and placed in the arms of His Mother.

  • The countenance of Jesus is disfigured with blood and sweat, with dust and spittle.

  • Jesus speaks to weeping women; “Weep not for Me, but for yourselves and your children.”

One Minute Meditation

The Third Sorrowful Mystery

THE CROWNING WITH THORNS

  • Pilate asks, “Are You a king?” Jesus answers: “I am a King, but My kingdom is not of this world.”
  • In the praetorium, the soldiers place an old purple robe on Jesus in mockery of His claim to be a king.
  • They fashion a crown out of thorns, and forcefully press it down upon His head.
  • In His bound hands they place a reed, as a sceptre, in mockery of His kingship.
  • Kneeling before Him in derision, they spit on Him, and cry out: “Hail, King of the Jews!”
  • Taking the reed from His hand they strike Him on the head, driving the thorns more deeply into His scalp.
  • Pilate brings Jesus before the people, hoping His pitiful sight will soften them: “Behold the man!”
  • Their response: “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”
  • Our Blessed Lord submitted to this terrible humiliation to make reparation for our pride.
  • Father, by the merits of this painful humiliation, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

The Second Sorrowful Mystery

THE SCOURGING AT THE PILLAR

  • Jesus is taken before the High Priest where He is falsely accused, buffeted and insulted.
  • The Jewish leaders take Jesus before Pilate, for only he can impose the death penalty.
  • The robber, Barabbas, is preferred to Jesus.
  • Pilate can “find no cause in Him”, yet to appease the Jews, he orders Jesus to be scourged.
  • The scourge is made of leather thongs to which are attached small sharp bones.
  • Jesus is bound to a pillar and cruelly scourged until His whole body is covered with deep wounds.
  • The Lamb of God offers His suffering for the sins of mankind.
  • Jesus suffers so much in His sacred flesh to satisfy, especially, for sins of the flesh.
  • The prophesy of Isiah is fulfilled: “He was wounded for our iniquities, He was bruised for our sins.”
  • Father, by the merits of Jesus in this painful scourging, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

The First Sorrowful Mystery

THE AGONY IN THE GARDEN

  • Jesus comes with his disciples to Gethsemani: “Stay here, while I go yonder and pray.”
  • Entering the garden with Peter, James, and John, Jesus prays, “My soul is sorrowful unto death.”
  • Jesus sees the sins of all mankind, whose guilt He has taken upon Himself.
  • He sees the wrath of the Father which His sufferings must appease.
  • So great is his anguish that His sweat becomes as drops of blood falling to the ground.
  • An angel appears to Him from heaven to strengthen Him.
  • “Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet, not My will but Yours be done.”
  • Finding the disciples asleep: “Could you not watch one hour with me?”
  • Jesus is betrayed by Judas, cruelly bound and led away.
  • Father, by the merits of the agony of Jesus in the Garden, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Our Lady of Fatima

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

OLF

The Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, appeared 6 times to 3 shepherd children: Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta  between May 13 and October 13, 1917. She came to the little village of Fatima which had remained faithful to the Catholic Church during the recent persecutions by the government. Our Lady came with a message from God to every man, woman, and child.

Our Lady of Fatima promised that the whole world would be in peace, and that many souls would go to Heaven if Her requests were listened to and obeyed. She told us that war is a punishment for sin; that God would punish the world for its sins in our time by means of war, hunger, persecution of the Church, and persecution of the Holy Father, the Pope, unless we listened to and obeyed the command of God.

At Fatima, Pope John Paul II said on a May 13th ; ” the message of Fatima is more relevant and more urgent ” then when Our Lady first appeared. The message is an anguished appeal of our Heavenly Mother, who sees us in great danger and who comes to offer her help and advice. Her message is also a prophesy, a clear indication of what was about to transpire in the 20th century, and what is still going to happen infallibly in the near future, depending on our response to her requests.

October 7th: Our Lady of the Rosary
Feast of the Holy Rosary

The feast of the Holy Rosary was established by Saint Pius V on the anniversary of the naval victory won by the Christian fleet at Lepanto, October 7, 1571. The victory was attributed to the help of the holy Mother of God whose aid was invoked through praying the Rosary. The celebration of this day invites all to mediate upon the mysteries of Christ, following the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary who was so singularly associated with the incarnation, passion and glorious resurrection of the Son of God.
