Fr. Thomas Ward of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Binghamton, NY, expounds on the sacred truth of the Dignity of the Human Person. This Truth is under attack on all sides by the one who is the “Father of lies” and “Murderer from the beginning.” Father Ward explains how tolerance of lies and sin ultimately leads to the destruction of human life, and the loss of souls.

He then exhorts us to respond with uncompromising truth, generous kindness, and universal charity, all of which must animate the merciful work of the Pro-Life movement.

This sermon was given for the Annual Pro-Life Prayer Service organized by the Broome County Right to Life Committee.

Eternal Father, Source of Life, open our hearts to see and desire the beauty of Your plan for life and love. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that our love will be generous and self-giving and we may be blessed with joy.

Grant us great trust in Your mercy. Forgive us for not receiving your gift of life and heal us from the effects of the culture of death. Instill in us and in all people a sense of the sacredness of every human life.  Inspire our efforts to protect and care for the most vulnerable, especially women who are pregnant and their unborn children, the sick and the elderly.

Strengthen us in the hope that with You nothing is impossible. We ask this in the Name of Jesus who by His Cross makes all things new. Amen.

40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life campaign with a vision to access God’s power through prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil to end abortion in America. The mission of the campaign is to bring together the body of Christ in a spirit of unity during a focused 40 day campaign of prayer, fasting, and peaceful activism, with the purpose of repentance, to seek God’s favor to turn hearts and minds from a culture of death to a culture of life, thus bringing an end to abortion in America.

From September 28th-November 6th, many communities will be joining together for a faith-filled, groundbreaking, coordinated pro-life mobilization — 40 Days for Life.

Hostess Corinn Dahm and guest Bill O’Brien, president of Connecticut Right to Life, speak on the current state of affairs and action against abortion on the federal and state level  government during our monthly live show on cable TV. Top of the list is defunding Planned Parenthood of the 300 Million dollars per year of federal funding. This should be no problem given the need to cut the budget deficit, that we have a Republican House of Representatives and there is mounting evidence that Planned Parenthood cares more about the men who are procuring abortions than women who are clearly being abused.

On a state level legislation for mandatory parental notification before an abortion can take place is on the top of the list.

Population is 15% but Abortions among blacks represent 30% of total, twice what it should be. So much attention is directed to racism but if black people new some of these facts they would refocus their attention. Related to 72% not getting married. All part of the materialistic, hedonistic culture of death. Planned Parenthood actively pushes this free love, anti-family lifestyle that leads to abortions with children being conceived with none of the necessary preparation.

Eileen Bianchini with Corinn Dahm cover the difficult subject of Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia, the growing trend to normalize what is essentially a mentality that life is not worth living. They also discuss both voluntary and involuntary euthanasia that is rapidly becoming the norm. They introduce the idea of a health proxy to ensure that you actually get health care when you are in a situation that others now consider not worth living. They ask how society has lost the sense of the dignity of life, how the natural end of life is often the most beautiful and the role of religion in re-instituting this dignity.
