Being born so premature (four and half months) that she could have been aborted with the excuse that she is not “viable”. The only problem she actually had was blindness. Tony DiMarco of the Helpers of God’s Precious Infants discusses with Corinn Dahm the many pro-life efforts they engage in including praying, protesting, sidewalk counseling, volunteering for local pregnancy crisis centers, The Forty-Days-for-Life and their local Pro-life March in Hartford, CT where he hopes to have about 1500 participants who will attend Mass on Saturday, January 21 at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Hartford and then march together to the state capitol building with many prayers and pro-life talks. This march is for those who can’t afford the time, money or time off work to got to the big March for Life in DC which is always on a weekday. Ave Maria! Fr. Thomas Ward of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Binghamton, NY, expounds on the sacred truth of the Dignity of the Human Person. This Truth is under attack on all sides by the one who is the “Father of lies” and “Murderer from the beginning.” Father Ward explains how tolerance of lies and sin ultimately leads to the destruction of human life, and the loss of souls. He then exhorts us to respond with uncompromising truth, generous kindness, and universal charity, all of which must animate the merciful work of the Pro-Life movement. January 22nd marks the sad anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision that legalized abortion across the United States. More than 50 million unborn children have perished since. This statue in Slovenia shows a bit of the anguish that many mothers come to know after their abortions. Let us pray that the truth of the value of all life, born and unborn, will be once again championed all over the world.
Eternal Father, Source of Life, open our hearts to see and desire the beauty of Your plan for life and love. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that our love will be generous and self-giving and we may be blessed with joy. Grant us great trust in Your mercy. Forgive us for not receiving your gift of life and heal us from the effects of the culture of death. Instill in us and in all people a sense of the sacredness of every human life. Inspire our efforts to protect and care for the most vulnerable, especially women who are pregnant and their unborn children, the sick and the elderly. Hostess Corinn Dahm and guest Bill O’Brien, president of Connecticut Right to Life, speak on the current state of affairs and action against abortion on the federal and state level government during our monthly live show on cable TV. Top of the list is defunding Planned Parenthood of the 300 Million dollars per year of federal funding. This should be no problem given the need to cut the budget deficit, that we have a Republican House of Representatives and there is mounting evidence that Planned Parenthood cares more about the men who are procuring abortions than women who are clearly being abused. On a state level legislation for mandatory parental notification before an abortion can take place is on the top of the list. Ave Maria! +++ |

They start by citing statistics from the Gutenbacher Institute that shows that death by abortions out number deaths by all other causes combined! Planned Parenthood clinics are still clustered around inner cities Population is 15% but Abortions among blacks represent 30% of total, twice what it should be. So much attention is directed to racism but if black people new some of these facts they would refocus their attention. Related to 72% not getting married. All part of the materialistic, hedonistic culture of death. It has sown violence and discord at the heart of the most intimate human relationships. It has aggravated the derogation of the father’s role in an increasingly fatherless society. It has portrayed the greatest of gifts — a child — as a competitor, an intrusion, and an inconvenience. It has nominally accorded mothers unfettered dominion over the independent lives of their physically dependent sons and daughters. And, in granting this unconscionable power, it has exposed many women to unjust and selfish demands from their husbands or other sexual partners. Human rights are not a privilege conferred by government. They are every human being’s entitlement by virtue of his humanity. Daily Prayer for 40 Days for Life Fall Campaign: Heavenly Father, we praise you and give you thanks for all your wonderful blessings. You are the Source and Fountain of Life. We acknowledge you as Lord, not only of individuals but of countries and governments as well. Awaken in every heart reverence for the work of your hands. All human life is sacred from the first moment of conception to natural death for it is created in your image and likeness. Jesus, the firstborn of all creation, you are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Have mercy on us, on our families and our country. Accept our prayers and fasting in atonement for the tragic sin of abortion in the world, especially in our country. By the merits of your precious blood, shed for our redemption, instill in all hearts a profound respect for life and bring about an end to abortion, euthanasia, and every other assault on innocent human life. Come, Holy Spirit, strengthen us and give us courage to work tirelessly to promote a true Culture of Life, whether in season or out of season – a culture that recognizes the dignity and sanctity of every person.
