Ave Maria Meditations
Mary’s Maternal Mediation
God and his Christ make use of Mary in this sense, that they make all the graces which they destine for us pass through her … By using her as intermediary, they temper their action all the more with humanity, without in any way diminishing its divine efficacy. They make Mary live by the life we are to live by. She is first filled to overflowing with it. Grace is preformed in her and receives in her the imprint of a special beauty. All grace and all graces come to us thus canalized a1nd distributed by her, impregnated with that special sweetness which she imparts to all she touches and all she does.
By her action Mary enters therefore into our lives as bearer of the divine. In the whole course of our lives, from the cradle and before it to the grave and beyond it, there is nothing of grace in which she had no part. She shapes us to the likeness of Jesus … She leaves her mark on everything and adds to the perfection of what passes through her hands. I have said that we are sustained by her prayer: we are similarly sustained by her action and, if one may say it, have our spiritual being in her hands. Every Christian is a child of Mary, but a child is not worthy of the name unless it is formed by its mother.

ZENIT – Is the Time Ripe for a 5th Marian Dogma?.

Ave Maria! Looks like things are starting to move on the 5th Marian Dogma front. On March 25th, Feast of the Annunciation the 5th Marian Dogma, (Coredemptrix, Mediatrix, and Advocate) will be the discussion at the Vatican Forum in Rome sponsored by Inside the Vatican Magazine and St. Thomas More College. Robert Moynihan of Inside the Vatican wrote the article that is linked above which announces the event along with an excellent write up the status and timeliness of proclaiming the Dogma. Excerpt:
Panelists for the March 25 Day of Dialogue will include Archbishop Ramon Arguelles of Lipa, Philippines, president of the Marian-Mariological Society of the Philippines, Carmelite Father Enrique Llamas, president of the Mariological Society of Spain. Also presenting will be Dr. Judith Gentle, Anglican theologian, author, and member of Our Lady of Walsingham Mariological Society from the United Kingdom.
The morning session will constitute brief presentations by panelists discussing the issue of appropriateness of a fifth Marian dogma at this time, while the afternoon session will consist of a dialogue by panelists, press, and audience concerning the topic.
The Pontifical Marian Academy was invited to participate in the dialogue, but later notified Inside the Vatican magazine that members of the Academy would not be participating. The event, which is free and open to the public, begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Via Borgo Pio, #141.
Deo gratias!

Ave Maria!– September’s Theme: Consecration to the Immaculate
“A soul consecrated to the Immaculate must follow the inspirations of the heart with complete liberty and approach the tabernacle, the cross, the Holy Trinity with much more courage, because that soul does not approach alone, but together with the Heavenly Mother, the Immaculate. Therefore, the soul consecrated to the Immaculate needs to pray the ejaculatory prayers and other prayers with great liberty, as the wings of the love of God guide it, where the Holy Spirit inspires it, shattering all barriers.” (cf. SK #1301)

Ave Maria!– September’s Theme: Consecration to the Immaculate
“A soul that is consecrated to the Immaculate, even if it does not turn its thought in an explicit way to the Immaculate and offers the prayer, the work, the suffering or any other thing, directly to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, that soul procures for the Heart of Jesus a pleasure that is incomparably greater than it would if it were not consecrated to the Immaculate.” (cf. SK #1301)

Ave Maria!– September’s Theme: Consecration to the Immaculate
“If we belong to the Immaculate, then everything that is ours belongs to Her and Jesus accepts everything that comes from us as if it came from Her, as if it belonged to Her. In this case, She cannot leave those actions imperfect, but She renders them worthy of Herself, that is Immaculate, without the slightest stain.” (cf. SK #1301)

Ave Maria!– September’s Theme: Consecration to the Immaculate
“Even if we already belong to the Immaculate, nevertheless, with the more important things, it is good to give them to Her as Her property, even with the mere invocation, “Mary”. When in difficulty, offer even this as Her property, with the invocation “Mary”: may She remove it, leave it be, reduce it or increase it as She pleases. When it is finished, always by means of the invocation “Mary”, may She purify it, repair that which is no good and offer it to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus as Her own personal offering.” (cf. SK #1300)

Ave Maria!– September’s Theme: Consecration to the Immaculate
“Let us often have recourse to the Immaculate. May Her little statue, [?], help us to often remember the filial duty to turn to Her before all of the important actions of the day. When difficulties arise, offer them to Her, so that She may do with them as She prefers: remove them, reduce them, increase them or leave them as they are; but also at the end of work it is good to offer to Her the action completed, so that its effect may be that which She desires.” (cf. SK #744)

Ave Maria!– September’s Theme: Consecration to the Immaculate
“We don’t know theoretically, and much less practically, how one ought to serve the Immaculate, how one ought to be Her instrument, servant, son, slave, thing, property and?She Herself. She alone must instruct each one of us in every instant, guide us, transform us into Herself, in such a way that it is no longer we who live, but She living in us, just as Jesus lives in Her and the Father in the Son.” (cf. SK #556)

Ave Maria!– September’s Theme: Consecration to the Immaculate
“We want to be the property of the Immaculate up to the point that, not only will there be nothing in us that is not Hers, but that we become almost annihilated in Her, changed into Her, transubstantiated into Her, that She Herself remain. That we belong to Her, as She belongs to God.” (cf. SK #508)

Ave Maria!– September’s Theme: Consecration to the Immaculate
“We know of the possessed, through whom the devil thought, spoke, and acted. We too, want to be as such, and still more, unlimitedly possessed by the Immaculate, that She Herself may think, speak and act through us.” (cf. SK #508)

Ave Maria!– September’s Theme: Consecration to the Immaculate
“The expressions ‘servant’, ‘son’, ‘slave’, ‘thing’, and ‘property’ are beautiful; but we want to be more, we want to be of the Immaculate without any limitation, including those indicated above and others that will be invented or could still be invented. In a word, be Hers, Immaculatae.” (cf. SK #508)

Ave Maria!– September’s Theme: Consecration to the Immaculate
“My dear brothers, the Immaculate has no need of me nor you, nor anyone else, for Her work; She Herself initiated it, She directs it, makes it grow and She alone carries it on by means of holy obedience. We, instead, are only obstacles, impediments, because we will never correspond to grace as we ought.” (cf. SK #419)

Ave Maria!– September’s Theme: Consecration to the Immaculate
“My wish is that all of the Militants of the Immaculate work hard and wear themselves out for Her and, through Her, for the Sacred Heart of Jesus, but only within the limits which She desires, neither more nor less: only in this case, in fact, will it be the maximum.” (cf. SK #418)
