Homily #120108 ( 20min) Play – Fr. Bonaventure preaches on the Epiphany of the Lord pointing out that this manifestation of the divinity of the Child Jesus is in fact very miraculous and both the star in heaven that guides the Magi and the interior inspiration that motivated them to travel so far has no natural explanation because it is God who brought this about. Father also explains the role of Our Lady in this manifestation and this all points to our divinely given mission to make these same mysteries manifest to our modern world.

Homily #101104 ( 13min) Play – In today’s Gospel Our Lord gives us the parables of the Lost Sheep and the Lost Coin where if one is lost many are left behind and great effort is exerted to find the one. We should realize then the personal concern that Jesus has for each one of us and we should also have this concern then for our neighbors. Father further points out the great evil of sin which leads souls astray and how preaching and praying for others is so important to the salvation of souls, to lead them to the sacraments.

Recording Failed - In today’s Gospel Our Lord brings salvation to Zacheus of Jericho. Fr. Bonaventure preaches on how Jericho is a symbol of sinfulness that has been conquered by Christ’s presence. This place was one of the most ancient cities in the world and was the lowest place below sea level that is inhabited by man and so is a symbol of Hell. The citizens were devotees of the lunar deities and practiced the associated vices, ones that would cause people to loose their mind, becoming literally lunatics. He connects this with the culture of modern decadent cities using Chapter 2 of the Book of Wisdom and how Christ is needed just as before for bringing the Kingdom of God to these bastions of Satan.

Homily #101027 ( 08min) Play – In today’s Gospel Our Lord talks about the number of the elect, of those who will be saved. Fr. Bonaventure explains that we have much to worry about in this regard since he says the number will be few. This is confirmed by the Fathers and Doctors of the Church. He stresses the need to have recourse to the mercy of God through the sacraments of the Church and lead others to Holy Mother Church to devotion to Christ and His Mother.

Homily #101017 ( 19min) Play – Our Lord gives us the parable in today’s Gospel of the unjust judge who cares nothing about God nor man, but after being pestered enough by the woman seeking justice he gives her request. Fr. Angelo preaches on the need to follow this woman’s example to pester God who is, instead, a just Judge, and so will all the more give us all that is good. Not only is it good to keep pestering good but Jesus give us a command to do so. He know all that we need ahead of time but we need to show him our trust in his goodness by continuing to beseech him even when we get tired of praying.
