July 01 ’08 – Special Homily – Fr Angelo: Thom & Marc Girard

Homily #090206s ( 15min) Play – Our community “Franciscans of the Immaculate” celebrate the Feast of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus on July 1st, on this consoling Feast Day, Thom and Marc Girard passed away, Thom on the vigil, and Marc the morning of. Less than 24hrs later Fr. Angelo offered the Precious Body and Blood of our Lord for the repose of their souls.

When I was going through the video footage for “Extreme Makeover” of Marc’s knighting, one of the knights reading a declaration, said, “…Marc, soon to be known through out the world for his unique talents…”  Here we are less than a year later after that statement and Marc’s story will be told through out the world on ABC.

This homily was never posted for one reason or another.

We find it fitting to post this homily on this First Friday two days before the show airs on ABC. May the Girard story be told as it truly is.

Standing Fast #28 – A Young Knight recites the Four Rules of Knighthood ( 2min) >>> Play

Ave Maria!

This was sent to us by someone who attended the last Knights of Lepanto Encampment with his son who is the main actor along with Fr. Angelo. He filmed it himself and his children edited it, pretty good for a first try. We need more Catholics doing this. Bravo!

They cover the four rules of being a knight that were discussed at the encampment. These are:

1. Morning Act of Offering

2. Daily Examination of Conscience

3. Treat your Mother with Respect

4. Treat your Sister(s) with Respect

This sounds really tough for a knight of any age, but for one so young! But, hey, no pain no gain. At least there is no “Clean your Room Every Day.” Or is this included in “Treat your Mother with Respect”?

Ave Maria!

Standing Fast #9 – Fr. Angelo on St. Maximilian Kolbe, Knight of the Immaculate>>> Play

Ave Maria!

In today’s episode of Standing Fast, Fr. Angelo explains how the book of Genesis contains the ‘First Gospel’ which gives us a first look at the constant war against Satan. St. Maximilian Kolbe understood that Our Lady was the answer to winning the battle, and that she would indeed crush the head of the serpent.
