Homily #111120 ( 45min) Play – Fr. Bonaventure preaches on the Christ the King explaining how He is King of kings and Lord of lords. If we are truly seeking salvation we must comply to our King and be a member of his Kingdom, the Catholic Church. He relates this to the modern forms of rejecting the kingdom in the form of rejecting the Creed, the similar problem with the Traditionalists, the materialism and sensuality of today and how all these rejections of Christ the King is a rejection of reality.

Recording Failed - In today’s Gospel Our Lord brings salvation to Zacheus of Jericho. Fr. Bonaventure preaches on how Jericho is a symbol of sinfulness that has been conquered by Christ’s presence. This place was one of the most ancient cities in the world and was the lowest place below sea level that is inhabited by man and so is a symbol of Hell. The citizens were devotees of the lunar deities and practiced the associated vices, ones that would cause people to loose their mind, becoming literally lunatics. He connects this with the culture of modern decadent cities using Chapter 2 of the Book of Wisdom and how Christ is needed just as before for bringing the Kingdom of God to these bastions of Satan.

Homily #101010 ( 39min) Play – The Gospel of today has the cleansing of the ten lepers and how only one came back to give thanks, a Samaritan, a stranger. Father points out that this event takes place in Samaria on the way from Philippi, famous for its temple to the Pagan god Pan which was considered to be the gates to the netherworld. The form of worship of this God was so outrageous that you could really call it pan-demonium. But it is also where Jesus gives the keys of the kingdom of God to Peter (Mat 16:18) against which these gates of hell will not prevail. He connects these biblical events with modern forms of pandemonium including rock music, materialistic culture, sexual immorality, political acquiescence to evil, public blasphemy, replacing Jesus the true savior with human gods. We have been forgiven by Christ, cleansed from the leprosy of sin. Let us not be ungrateful like the other nine lepers but be like that one stranger who returns to give thanks to Christ our Savior. Let us not only do this as individuals but as a people and as whole nations, coming back to the Church that Jesus built on the rock of Peter.

Homily #100704 ( 22min) Play – In today’s Gospel Our Lord sends Seventy-two of His disciples out to preach and heal. Fr. Bonaventure explains that 72 has symbolic meaning referring to hierarchy around Moses and the Sanhedrin who have authority over the people of God. When Jesus sends out the disciples it is to extend the kingdom of God to push back the kingdom of Satan. Today we are all called to do the same at a time when the kingdom of Satan is on the march.

Homily #100530 ( 26min) Play – For Holy Trinity Sunday and the closing Mass for the Knights of Lepanto Father-Son Encampment, Fr Angelo preaches on how the Trinity is three Persons and yet united as if it where and Army, working as one for the salvation of all men. He stresses the need to acknowledge that the Second Person of the Trinity became man to win our salvation and so enable the Holy Trinity to dwell within us. Our hearts then become the divine fortress of the Trinity and this forms the base to sally forth and practice the virtues, especially charity.

Homily #100131 ( 15min) Play – Why is there so much outrage against Christ? To understand this you must recognize the existence of the Kingdom of Satan and those who are apart of it. Christ, by coming to set people free from sin, has declared war on that kingdom. In his time Jesus prepared His disciples for this battle and so he does today. We must take courage that He is with us especially in times of peril.

Homily #091115 ( 10min) Play – Fr. Ignatius explains the parable in today’s Gospel of how the Kingdom of God is like a muster seed that grows into into the largest of bushes. This miracle of growth from the tiniest of seeds occurred by the action of God in the form of miracles and also by the action of men in the witness they gave by practicing their faith to a heroic degree. God is still performing miracles. Are we doing our part?

For your father knoweth that you have need of all these things. Seek ye therefore first the Kingdom of God and His justice.” This is telling us to walk in the spirit instead of the flesh.
