Homily #110717 ( 13min) Play – The parable of wheat and the tears tells us that we will always have the children of the kingdom of Satan living side by side with the children of God even up till judgment day and we will not able to see who is who until they start bearing their very different fruits. Fr. Dominic relates this to heresy, how it is hard to spot at first, that we must be vigilant but must use prudence so that we do not damage the wheat.

Jul 10 – Homily – Fr Angelo: Sowing in Good, Humble Soil

Homily #110710 ( 13min) Play -In today’s gospel Jesus gives the parable of the Sower of the Seed that lands on good soil and bad and his disciples ask him why he uses parables. Fr. Angelo explains that parables are not to prevent people from understanding but to help people of good will to come to him and ask for more explanation. These people of good will are the ones with humble hearts who are, in turn, represented in this parable as the good soil that receives the seed and produces an abundant harvest.

Conferences #88 -Abp. Burke preaches at the Mass for the Coredemption  Conference ( 33min) >>> Play

Ave Maria!

Here are some highlights from the Mass at our Symposium “Mother of the Church” on Marian Coredemption in the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, La Crosse, Wisconsin on August 21, 2010,  including the homily by Abp. Raymond Burke, the founder of the shrine and Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura. Abp. Burke connects the heroic holiness of Pope St Pius X with the motherly protection of Our Lady. She inspired him and so he became like her and was able to love Jesus as she did and become a Good Shepherd in the footsteps of Jesus and his vicar, St. Peter.

Drew Mariani of Relevant Radio was MC of the symposium.

Apr 25 – Homily – Fr Angelo: Jesus the Good Shepherd

Homily #100425 ( 22min) Play -  Today is Good Shepherd Sunday, the forth Sunday in Easter where the readings refer to Jesus as the Good Shepherd, specifically how he leads His sheep to eternal life. It is also the Church-wide prayer day for vocations to the priesthood. Fr. Angelo preaches on the need for good shepherds, especially in the face of Church scandals and in the face of a society that is in a state of moral decay which is leading so many to eternal death.

Jesus said:
“My sheep hear my voice;
I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.
No one can take them out of my hand.
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all,
and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand.
The Father and I are one.”

The Source of My Vocation by Pope John Paul II

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

I set off in search of the source of my vocation. It is beating there … in the Upper Room in Jerusalem. I thank God that during the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000 I was able to pray precisely there-in the Upper Room (Mark 14:15), where the Last Supper took place.

THE SOURCE OF MY VOCATION

by The Servant of God, Pope John Paul II

I transport myse1f in thought to that memorable Thursday when Christ, having loved his own to the end (Jn.13:1), instituted the Apostles as priests of the New Covenant. I see Him bending down before each of us, succesors of the Apostles, to wash our feet. I hear Him, as if He were speaking to me-to us-these words: “Do you realize what I have done for you? You call Me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Master,’ and rightly so, for indeed I am. If I, therefore, the Master and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought also to wash one anothers feet. I have given you an example to follow, so that as I have done for you, you also should do” (John 13:12-16). (more…)
