Marycast #56 ( 10min) Play – Christian or non-Christian, suffering is unavoidable in this life. Whether we want to or not, we all have crosses to carry. Should we try to escape from it or avoid it, or is there a better way? “Through suffering, you can grow closer to Jesus Christ than you can in any other way.” These are the words of Pope John Paul II in his document on Christian suffering. Listen as Dr. Miravalle explores this thorny topic in this episode of MaryCast.

Ave Maria!
Last September, the Friars held an International Centenary Symposium on the Mariology of Bl. John Duns Scotus at the University of Durham, England, in honor of the 700th anniversary of Scotus’ death (1308). We had the great privilege of celebrating a mass at St. Margaret’s Parish in Duns, Scotland, which is where Scotus was born, and of interviewing the main celebrant of the mass, His Eminence Keith Michael Patrick O’Brien, Cardinal of St. Andrews and Edinburgh, Scotland.
We will be posting the various presentations from the conference itself in the upcoming weeks. We promise that there’ll be enough Mariology in these conferences to chew on for a lifetime!
