Ave Maria Meditations
To You, O God, Fountain of Mercy, I come, a sinner. May You wash away my impurity.
O Sun of Justice, give sight to the blind. O Eternal Healer, cure the wounded. O King of Kings, restore the despoiled. O Mediator of God and man, reconcile the sinful. O Good Shepherd, lead back the straying. O God, have pity on the wretched, show leniency to the guilty, bestow life on the dead, reform the impious, and give the balm of grace to the hard of heart.
O most merciful God, call back the one who flees, draw back the one who resists, lift up the one who falls, support the one who stands, and accompany the one who walks.
Do not forget those who forget You. Do not desert those who desert You. Do not despise those who sin against You. For in sinning, I have offended You, my God.
I have harmed my neighbor; I have not even spared myself injury. I have sinned, 0 my God, against You, almighty Father, because of my weakness; against You, all-knowing Son, because of my ignorance; against You, merciful Holy Spirit, because of my malice. Thus have I offended You, most high Trinity.

Ave Maria Meditations

“Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
“No one, Lord.”
“Neither do I condemn you; go, and do not sin again!”
(Chapter 8 of St. John’s Gospel)
In the Sacrament of Penance it is Christ who forgives.
They placed her in the midst, says the Gospel. They have humiliated her and shamed her in the extreme, without the slightest concern for her. They remind Our Lord that the Law imposed the severe penalty of death by stoning for this sin. “What do you say?”, they ask him, disguising their ulterior motives so that they might have some charge to bring against him. But Jesus surprises them all. He does not say anything; He bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground.
The woman is terrified by them all. The Scribes and Pharisees go on asking questions. Then, Jesus stood up and said to them, “Let he who is without sin throw the first stone”. And once more He bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. (more…)

Homily #100613 ( 17min) Play – Fr. Bonaventure preaches on today’s Gospel where Our Lord teaches about forgiveness. He explains that sins committed by King David and Mary Magdalene in the readings are no different than those committed today and so we are very much in need of forgiveness today, not falling into despair, but turning to the Lord with a repentant heart.

Here is another from Fr. Angelo on MaryVictrix that was missed in the last two weeks here on AirMaria. This one was from March 31st. We hope to improve our performance in the future.

The following is an Easter Truce of God, based on one decreed by the emperor Henry IV in 1085. It is only a suggestion. Use your prudent judgment. (Here it is in a more ceremonial form in pdf).
Whereas in our times this holy household has been afflicted beyond measure by tribulations through having to join in suffering so many oppressions and dangers, we have so striven to aid it, with God’s help, that the peace which we could not make lasting by reason of our sins, we should to some extent make binding by at least exempting certain days.
In the year of the Lord’s incarnation, 2010, it has been decreed by God’s mediation, the Queen and all of import unanimously agreeing, that from Holy Thursday at the time of the Lord’s Supper until sunrise on Easter Monday, this decree of peace shall be preserved. (more…)

Ave Maria Meditations
To the Precious Blood of Jesus:
O Precious Blood of Jesus, infinite price of sinful man’s redemption, both drink and laver of our souls, Thou who dost plead continually the cause of man before the throne of infinite mercy; from the depths of my heart, I adore Thee, and so far as I am able, I would requite Thee for the insults and outrages which Thou dost continually receive from human beings, and especially from those who rashly dare to blaspheme Thee.
+
Who would not bless this Blood of infinite value? Who doth not feel within himself the fire and love of Jesus who shed it all for us? What would be my fate, had I not been redeemed by this divine Blood? Who hath drawn it from the veins of my Savior, even to the last drop? Ah, this surely was the work of love. O infinite love, grant that every heart and every tongue may be enabled to praise Thee, magnify Thee and give Thee thanks now and for evermore. Amen.
