Ave Maria! Today is the tenth anniversary of the Australian Mission of the Franciscans of the Immaculate to Australia. Deo Gratias! May Our Lady continue with her blessings. |
Ave Maria! Here’s a video in Italian. It is a vocation video for the Clarisse dell’Immacolata (Poor Clares of the Immaculate) which is another order started by our founder Fr. Stefano Manelli. It is an order of Poor Clares that follows the Traccia with the Marian vow as do the Franciscans of the Immaculate. Currently they have four convents, all in Italy and have about sixty sisters and are fully contemplative as opposed to the FI sisters who are both active and contemplative. This slide-show video features their convent in Pastena in Lazio. We will probably make an English version of this but we thought we should just get this Italian version up straight away to add a little foreign language flair on AirMaria and to give some exposure to this blessed community. Ave Maria! This exciting video of Doug Barry’s Radix Boot Camp has been edited from footage captured a the last Knights and Squires Encampment in Griswold Connecticut, held last Fall. We will be running the Encampment and Boot Camp again on the Weekend of May 23-25. Doug will not be there, but we hope to have him come for the Fall Encampment. For more on this, check out MaryVictrix. |
Ave Maria! Friar Gabriel’s brother, himself being an accomplished skater, recently visited our two friaries in Western Australia, and while he was there shot another video of Friar Gabriel skateboarding. He used some of the original footage shot in 2004 but also took some great footage by riding a skateboard himself and holding the camera. He then edited the results together with some music from Fr Maximilian Mary Dean and here’s the result – great stuff! Ave Maria! |
Ave Maria! On Monday 23rd April, the friars were priveleged to attend a discussion between two Catholic Presidential Candidates, Sen. Chris Dodd and Sen. Sam Brownback, at Boston College’s Conte Forum. The discussion was moderated by Tim Russert & the questions revolved around the influence, or lack thereof, of Catholicism on the senators’ political stances. Following the exchange, Peter Wolfgang of the Family Institute of CT was fortunate enough to be able to interview Sen. Brownback. Ave Maria! |
Ave Maria! We are so grateful here at AirMaria.com to Louise Marciano, the producer of the show “Fatima Today”, which is broadcast on several cable networks in the Boston area, for sending us this episode of the show with Bro. Francis Mary Kalvelage as the guest. We hope you enjoy this episode of “Fatima Today” entitled “Padre Pio – The Wonder Worker”, and as I was previewing this show, it brought back lots of pleasant memories of this wonderful religious brother and our brother in Christ. I am sure that his books will be treasured for ages to come even after he has passed from this life. On the video, it says that the book “Padre Pio – The Wonder Worker” is available from Ignatius Press – this may be so, but please try marymediatrix.com first! We also apologize for the technical problems during the opening sequence of the show – persevere – it gets better. Ave Maria! P.S. – The great number of inquiries about how Bro. Francis is doing is a great testimony of how much he is loved and admired. Thanks to all the good help at Sacred Heart Nursing Home he is doing well. He is still on a feeding tube. He still recognizes people and is able to respond sometimes. But with his paralysis from his stroke he is certainly doing his purgatory on earth. So please keep him in your prayers. |
Ave Maria! After being a Protestant Pastor for over 30 years, first in a nondenominational church and then in three Presbyterian churches, Neil Babcox makes the journey home to the Catholic Faith on the Solemnity of All Saints, November 1, 2006. While most Protestant converts find Catholic devotion to Our Lady an extremely difficult obstacle to becoming Catholic, for Neil it was just the opposite: Her irresistible tenderness drew him into the fullness of Christ’s Church. Neil spent his first Easter with the Franciscans of the Immaculate and shared his story with AirMaria.com in two episodes. Watch Neil in this first episode as he shares how the Immaculate brought him home; and be sure to tune in to EWTN, Marcus Grodi’s The Journey Home on May 21st at 8pm where Neil will share more of his story. Ave Maria! We are happy to announce that ten Franciscans of the Immaculate were ordained to the priesthood through the imposition of the hands of His Eminence Crescenzio Card. Sepe, Archbishop of Napoli on March 24, 2007 in the Church of St. Theresa of the Discalced, Naples. This is an incredible blessing to the order and the Church. As the saintly Don Donlindo Ruotolo put it, “The priest is a flower that has bloomed in the magnificence of the love of Jesus Christ … that shines in the splendor of his dignity and excels all others … a rose from the Immaculate Heart of Mary” There were no Americans ordained this year but one of the ordained, Fra Agnelus from England, made his postulancy and novitiate here in America and several American seminarians were in the Church and are anxiously awaiting their ordination in just a few short years, after which they will be able come back and minster to us here. Fra Bonaventure from Cameroon was ordained as well. Generous benefactors from the US paid for the plane tickets for his family to come and see his ordination. All those who contributed will be glad to see that they were, in fact, able to come. They stand out in their beautiful traditional African clothes, captured here in some of the slides. The beautiful church is staffed by the FI sisters who also sang magnificently for the ceremony. Thank you, Jesus and Mary!! Ave Maria! |
Ave Maria! Dana, shown here in the 1993 World Youth Day in Denver Colorado, gives a heart warming recommendation for Air Maria. Ave Maria! |
Ave Maria! Dale Alquist of the American Chesterton Society gives his recommendation for Air Maria. So if this man can do this much for us while he is so busy filming episodes of his own show Apostle of Common Sense at EWTN, editing his magazine the Gilbert Magazine, giving talks at major conferences and running his web site www.chesterton.org, then the least you can do is watch our shows and tell your friends about us. Thanks a million Dale! Ave Maria! |
Ave Maria! Fr. Apostoli, in betwee&:n being spiritual director of the CNM Trade Show, giving spiritual retreats, his shows on EWTN: Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen: A Prophet for our Times, The Word Was Made Flesh, his activities at the Franciscans of the Renewal, and writing all his books, gives a hearty recommendation for Air Maria! Ave Maria! |
