Friar Roderic caught up with Fr Angelo Geiger in front of the Abortion Clinic in Norwich, CT, on the night of the start of the “40 Days for Life” campaign, which is now into Day 11.
We here at AirMaria apologize for not getting this footage up sooner – we have been so busy preparing for the Videotaping and Live-Streaming of the Coredemption Conference in Indiana, preparing for several NCE-FM License Applications, and to top it all off, madly preparing for the Boot Camp at the friary starting on Oct 19th. Whew!!!
Anyways, all these activities end during the same week in October (the 19th) and then our AirMaria crew will receive a manpower boost, with the addition of two Novices to the team, and we will have much more time to devote to keeping up with our postings.

While we were doing the interview the names of those who died where being read on the load speaker at the memorial service at Ground Zero and can be heard in the background. Listen to this inspiring account of hope and light that the Cross can bring in the midst of great darkness and despair.

Last nite (25th Sept, 2007), Friar Roderic caught up with Corinn Dahm at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Norwich, CT, after the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass had been offered for the launch of the 40 Days for Life Campaign at the Planned Parenthood Abortion Mill in Case St Norwich.
Over the next 40 days there will be a minimum of 2 people at all times praying in front of the Abortion Mill, not only in Norwich, but in 89 cities around the country, to end abortion in America, and these front-line soldiers will also be supported by thousands of other people who will be offering their prayers, sacrifices, and fastings for the success of this endeavor. This is a history making event that will change our country!
We beg you to support our troops with prayers and fastings and to pass this news onto others that may not have heard about it and help save the lives of maybe thousands of unborn babies.
Check out the 40 Days for Life website at:

Stay tuned to AirMaria.com over the coming weeks as we keep you up to date on the events surrounding this incredible initiative.

Our 500th Post!! Deo Gratias!
Peter Wolfgang, Executive Director of the Family Institute of Connecticut gives us an interview at the pro-family rally they sponsored at the CT State Capitol to send a message to the Ct Supreme Court to not suppress existing legislation in the court case Kerrigan et al v. the state Department of Public Health. If the supreme court decides in favor of the plaintiffs then all the recent legislative victories won in recent years to keep marriage defined as a union between a man and a woman will be negated. Listen to this interview from the front lines of the state level national battle to protect marriage and religious freedom.

On Sunday, Sept 16, the Roving Reporter went to New Bedford where the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate and the local Portuguese community held their annual Our Lady of Good Voyage Procession. We processed through the city streets to the fishing docks where we had a moving ceremony of pageantry, music, and prayer for the safe return of fishermen and to commend to Our Lord and Lady those who died at sea. Listen to this interview as Fr. Martin Mary, F.I. relates this event to the larger voyage we all make toward God.

We celebrated our first Traditional Latin Mass here at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel in Griswold, CT on Friday, Sept 14, feast of the Triumph of the Holy Cross 2007. The next morning Fr. Peter Fehlner gave an interview with the Roving Reporter on the subject. Okay, the Roving Reporter did not have to rove very far because it was filmed right on the front porch of the friary, but after the busy week we had even he needed a break. Listen as Fr. Peter explains that there are not two rites but only one which can be celebrated with some adaptations and that if the Novus Order is celebrated by the book then it is not much different from the traditional Latin Mass.
The evening of the same day of this interview we had our second Latin Mass and this we broadcast, live. You can view the comments here.

As promised, here’s the shortened version of the video of the Visitation of Our Lady of America to NYC.
It was amazing and touching to see the groundswell of devotion by the faithful to this new devotion in the Church to Our Lady of America.
If the way the patrons of St Patrick’s Cathedral embraced Our Lady of America continues in the other places she will be visiting in the coming months, then I have no doubt that our Blessed Mother’s wish to have Her image of Our Lady of America enthroned at the National Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC, will be realized sooner than later.

Update: See a shorter video here
Here is the video. It was a while coming, but worth the wait. Wow! What an event, a lifetime experience, and so much video footage to edit! Thanks for your patience. It is a bit longer than most of our videos here on AirMaria, but every deletion was heart rending. We will hopefully be posting a shorter version tomorrow. This segment includes Our Lady of America at St. Peter’s, enthronement on the fire tuck, the trip past Ground Zero, Her arrival at St. Patrick’s and the devotions there.
Many thanks to Denise Parlacoski and Kevin McCarthy for making this happen. Thanks to the Fire and Police Departments of Newark and New York, to the Port Authority, the dioceses of Newark and New York and to Fr. Kevin Madigan, pastor of St. Peter’s and Monsignor Robert T. Ritchie, rector of St. Patrick’s and many others. Thanks to all who attended these events and, finally, thanks to Our Lady of America for taking center stage in our troubled times. Our Lady of America, pray for us.

The Airmaria crew were so blessed to be in NYC for a few days around the Sixth Anniversay of the 9/11 terrorist attack, covering a story about the Statue of Our Lady of America, which was enthroned in St Peter’s Church, on Chapel St.
Just a few blocks down the street, at the WTC Path subway station, which is situated right in front of ground zero, friar Roderic, our Roving Reporter, met Kevin Calhoun, of the New York City Fire Dept, and shot this touching interview.
This is what 9/11 is all about. It’s not about the destruction, it’s not about the devastation, it’s not about the new tower… it’s about people, it’s about heroes, it’s about love – it’ about the “Heart of America”.

We are posting this video (filmed yesterday) from New York. Hopefully in the future we can do more of this, even live from the field. Come listen to this moving testimony from Denise Parlacoski who after making a prayer to Our Lady found herself in a 4 week odyssey that led to the miraculous overcoming of mountains of red tape and bureaucracy with several dioceses, Police Departments, Fire Departments, NY Port Authority all to bring Our Lady of America to Ground Zero, a true testimony to the providence of God. The fire truck is already at St. Peter’s and the statue will be enthroned on the truck at 3:15. The Governor of NY will be at the Mass for the Port Authority happening at the same time at St Peters so it will be quite an event. Then she will be processed in the motorcade around Ground Zero and then off to St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

She gives several links where we can stay informed on these issues and find out what can be done.

Ave Maria!
The FI news team covered the pro Marriage Rally held at the Connecticut State Capital yesterday Morning which was organized by the Family Institute of CT. Over 300 people took time off work to give support for keeping the traditional definition of marriage as being between a man and a woman. This is in spite of the fact that the bill to redefine marriage had already been defeated! The pro gay marriage group also had a gathering at the same time and only turned out about 16 people! This rally of families on a gloriously beautiful spring day was a great celebration of the defeat of this bill, and sent a powerful pro family message to the CT legislature and to National and State legislatures across the US. But prayers are still needed.
