Homily #101114 ( 10min) Play – In today’s Gospel Our Lord tells us to be prepared for the Day of the Lord when he comes the second time to judge the living and the dead. He will come publicly in the end times in full Glory and those alive at that time should indeed be ready for it. But Fr. Dominic focuses on our personal Day of the Lord when we will die and meet our Lord to be judged. This is something that all of us will face and we do not know when it will come. As such, Father exhorts us to organize our lives to be continually prepared for that day, doing prayer and penance so that we can be with Our Blessed Lord for all eternity.

Homily #101105 ( 08min) Play – In today’s Gospel we have the parable of the unjust steward where Our Lord points out how wise worldly people are in the pursuit of selfish goals and making friends in this life to the neglect of higher goals and eternal life. Fr. Dominic relates this to the modern world that is so focused on greed. He mentions that we must be focused instead on eternal life and organize our spiritual endeavors in order to make progress, growing in our friendship with God and so store up treasure for our final end.

Homily #100419 ( 06min) Play – Our Lord advises us to labor for existence in the Life to come. How much society would change for the good if all labored for what is truly good, and would remember that those who live only for this present moment will indeed find themselves forever in Hell.

LET US MAKE GOOD USE OF TIME
Ave Maria Mediations
PRESENCE OF GOD: I recollect myself in the presence of the Lord, to examine in the light of eternity the value of time.
Meditation:
Time passes and does not return. God has assigned to each of us a definite time in which to fulfill His divine plan for our soul; we have only this time and shall have no more. Time ill spent is lost forever. Our life is made up of this uninterrupted, continual flow of time, which never returns. In eternity, on the contrary, time will be no more; we shall be established forever in the degree of love which we have reached now, in time. (more…)
