Jan 13 – St. Pio Daily – Give Me More

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Ave Maria!January’s Theme: Divine Love

“Say to Jesus as St. Augustine always used to say: ‘Give what You command, and command what You want’. Do You want a greater love from me, O Jesus? I, too, desire this as a deer desires to arrive to the fount of water; but You see that I have no more! Give me more and I will offer it to You!”

Jan 9 – St. Pio Daily – Sincere Desire

Jan 8 – St. Pio Daily – Love in Bitterness

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Ave Maria!January’s Theme: Divine Love

“Let us practice well holy resignation and pure love of God, which is never practiced so well as when amidst contradictions and afflictions, because even children know how to love God amidst spiritual sweetness. To love Him amidst spiritual bitterness is the sign of our loving fidelity. St. Peter, still vulgar on top of Tabor, has the courage to say: Long live Jesus; but to say: Long live Jesus on Calvary, only belongs to The Mother and to the loving faithful (one) who was left to Her as son.”

Jan 7 – St. Pio Daily – Love As You Can

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Ave Maria!January’s Theme: Divine Love

“God commands us to love Him not as much and as He deserves, because He knows our limitations and therefore doesn’t ask us to do what we cannot, but rather, He commands us to love Him in accordance with our strength, with all our soul, all our mind and all our heart.”

Jan 4, 5, 6 – St. Pio Daily – Making Up for Lost Time…

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Ave Maria!January’s Theme: Divine Love

*Jan. 4 – “[The divine love] is everything for us: it is the honey…which must sweeten all our weaknesses, all our feelings sufferings and actions. My God, how happy is the interior kingdom when this holy love reigns within it! How blessed are the faculties of the soul when they obey so wise a King!”

Jan. 5 – “You are searching feverishly for the Supreme Good…but in truth, He is within you, keeping you stretched out on the naked cross, breathing strength into to you to bear the intolerable torment, and love, that you may painfully love His love. Your fear of having lost Him then, is altogether futile, for He is quite near and clasps you to Himself. Equally futile is your anxiety for the future, since the present is a crucifixion of love.”

Jan. 6 – “…perfect love is acquired when one possesses the object of this love, which is God Himself. But God will not be possessed totally and perfectly except in the Homeland; not while we are in exile. Therefore, as the total possession of God is not granted to the soul in exile, neither can Love possess consummated love, as long as this soul is a pilgrim on earth. Therefore, if this is our state, why so much frenzied anxiety and useless dejection?”

Jan 3 – St. Pio Daily – Desire for God is Everything

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

Ave Maria!January’s Theme: Divine Love

“If there was nothing but the desire to love God in a soul, everything is present already; God Himself is there, because God is not, nor can He be, anywhere except where there is a desire for His love.”

Jan 2 – St. Pio Daily – Earthly Satisfaction is Deceptive

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

Ave Maria!January’s Theme: Divine Love

“The unquenchable thirst that devours you arises because it has not yet reached the end of its journey; it is not yet totally immersed in the eternal fountain, which cannot take place while we are in a pilgrim state. Woe to the soul when it considers itself satisfied here on earth, because it would be the beginning of its downfall and it would be deceived.”

Jan 1 – St. Pio Daily – The Thirst for Divine Love

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

Ave Maria!January’s Theme: Divine Love

“In the ways of divine love, one can never say: enough! This ardor of mysterious satiety which is always calm and sweet in its insatiability, cannot be uttered by the soul except in the Reign of Glory, where we will drink at the inexhaustible torrent of eternal delight…Jesus is pleased with this thirst of yours.”

In Anticipation of our Christmas Communion

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Ave Maria Mediations:

In Anticipation of our Christmas Communion

The Lord has shown his great mercy. Enkindle in your hearts ardent desires and burning wishes for Our Lord to come to you in the virtue of his charity, love of the Father, and of every human being. Say with the Royal Prophet, “I opened my mouth and panted.” And your Savior will respond, “Surely I come quickly; you shall see me very soon.”

Your eyes at the midnight Mass will gaze upon the elevated Host and your lips will utter, “My Lord and my God.” A few minutes more and the little Infant will have come to you. His Immaculate Mother did not hold him more truly in her arms that first Christmas midnight than you will have him, heart to heart. Then all the love of that Infant Redeemer will be poured out upon you. It’s a thirst of the heart of every creature that desires to be loved, and the love which can alone satisfy that craving is the Divine Love.

Sept 22 – St Maximilian Daily – Consecration Requires Courage and Prayer

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Ave Maria!September’s Theme: Consecration to the Immaculate

“A soul consecrated to the Immaculate must follow the inspirations of the heart with complete liberty and approach the tabernacle, the cross, the Holy Trinity with much more courage, because that soul does not approach alone, but together with the Heavenly Mother, the Immaculate. Therefore, the soul consecrated to the Immaculate needs to pray the ejaculatory prayers and other prayers with great liberty, as the wings of the love of God guide it, where the Holy Spirit inspires it, shattering all barriers.” (cf. SK #1301)

Sept 21 – St Maximilian Daily – Consecration Pleases the Heart of Jesus

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

Ave Maria!September’s Theme: Consecration to the Immaculate

“A soul that is consecrated to the Immaculate, even if it does not turn its thought in an explicit way to the Immaculate and offers the prayer, the work, the suffering or any other thing, directly to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, that soul procures for the Heart of Jesus a pleasure that is incomparably greater than it would if it were not consecrated to the Immaculate.” (cf. SK #1301)

Sept 20 – St Maximilian Daily – Consecration Purifies Our Imperfect Acts

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

Ave Maria!September’s Theme: Consecration to the Immaculate

“If we belong to the Immaculate, then everything that is ours belongs to Her and Jesus accepts everything that comes from us as if it came from Her, as if it belonged to Her. In this case, She cannot leave those actions imperfect, but She renders them worthy of Herself, that is Immaculate, without the slightest stain.” (cf. SK #1301)

Sept 19 – St Maximilian Daily – Invoke the Name of Mary

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Ave Maria!September’s Theme: Consecration to the Immaculate

“Even if we already belong to the Immaculate, nevertheless, with the more important things, it is good to give them to Her as Her property, even with the mere invocation, “Mary”. When in difficulty, offer even this as Her property, with the invocation “Mary”: may She remove it, leave it be, reduce it or increase it as She pleases. When it is finished, always by means of the invocation “Mary”, may She purify it, repair that which is no good and offer it to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus as Her own personal offering.” (cf. SK #1300)

Sept 18 – St Maximilian Daily – Recourse to the Immaculate

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Ave Maria!September’s Theme: Consecration to the Immaculate

“Let us often have recourse to the Immaculate. May Her little statue, [?], help us to often remember the filial duty to turn to Her before all of the important actions of the day. When difficulties arise, offer them to Her, so that She may do with them as She prefers: remove them, reduce them, increase them or leave them as they are; but also at the end of work it is good to offer to Her the action completed, so that its effect may be that which She desires.” (cf. SK #744)
