Ave Maria! At the second talk at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Island in Manorville, Long Island, NY for a Day of Prayer in honor of The Lady of All Nations. Dr. Mark mentions that the fifth Marian dogma is already a doctrine of the Church and the petition drive for this dogma that is so clearly called for at the Amsterdam apparitions of The lady of All Nations starting in the 1940s was already and old idea. In fact, twenty-five years before these apparitions, petitions for this dogma were started by none other than Cardinal Mercier who was joined soon afterwords by St. Maximilian Kolbe. Dr. Mark systematically answers the following questions:

Ave Maria Meditations
Mary, Co-redemptrix with Christ: The meaning of pain.
Old Simeon, having blessed the young couple, turned to Mary and, inspired by the Holy Spirit, opened her eyes to the sufferings her Son would have to undergo and to the sword of sorrow that would pierce her soul. Pointing to Jesus, he said: Behold, this child is set for the ~ and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is spoken against (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.
Commenting on this, St Bernard says: The time will come when Jesus will not be offered in the temple nor in the arms of Simeon, but outside the city walls on the arms of a cross. The time will come when he will not be ransomed with money but will himself redeem others, with his own blood, for God the Father has sent him as a ransom for his people. The suffering of his Mother, the sword that will pierce her soul, will have as their only cause the agony of her Son, his persecution and death, the uncertainty about when these things will happen, and the resistance to the grace of the Redemption, which will be the ruin of many. Mary’s destiny is bound up with that of Jesus, in its operation, and without any other possible reason. The joy of the Redemption and the pain of the Cross are inseparable in the lives of Jesus and Mary, as if God, through his most beloved creatures in the world, wished to show us that happiness is to be found close to the Cross. Right from the start then, the lives of Our Lord and of his Mother are stamped with the sign of the Cross. To the joy of the first Christmas is soon added privation and anxiety. From these first moments Mary already knows the pain that awaits her. And when her hour comes she will contemplate the Passion and Death of her Son with neither reproach nor complaint: Suffering as no mother could ever suffer, Mary will accept her pain in peace of mind, for she knows its redemptive significance. Ave Maria! For our Symposium “Mother of the Church” on Marian Coredemption in the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, La Crosse, Wisconsin on August 21, 2010, Luis Cardinal Aponte-Martinez, Archbishop Emeritus of San Juan, Puerto Rico gives the second talk titled “Our Lady of Guadalupe: The Coredemptrix and the New Evangelization”. Cardinal Aponte has been one of the most energetic promoters of the dogma of Mary as Coredemptrix. In this talk he uses his warm humor to draw connections between the great evangelization of the Americas through the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the promise of a similarly fruitful period of worldwide evangelization in our own time should we honor Mary by declaring the Fifth Dogma. By doing so we will fulfill the desire of Pope JPII for a New Evangelization. He says the fruit will be the reconversion of formerly Christian lands beck to the faith, the conversion of new Christian lands, Christians will be united in humility and the world will have peace all as only a mother can give. He points out that by declaring the Fifth Dogma of Mary as Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate we are declaring her Mother of the Church and Mother of all Peoples and so we will obtain all the associated motherly spiritual gifts for the whole world. He gives a final exhortation for us to all go out and pray and be active in promoting the dogma to friends, family and even to our pastors and bishops. Drew Mariani of Relevant Radio was MC of the symposium. Ave Maria! +++ |
Ave Maria! After the introduction to our Symposium “Mother of the Church” in the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, La Crosse, Wisconsin on August 21, 2010, Msgr. Arthur B. Calkins gives the first formal talk titled “Coredemption and Marian Consecration in the Magisterium of John Paul II and Benedict XVI”. Msgr. Calkins is the foremost authority on the Marian teachings of these two popes. He explains the meaning of consecration to Mary and how it is based on her role as Coredemptrix and … Mother of the Church. Drew Mariani of Relevant Radio was MC of the symposium. Ave Maria! +++ |
