Ave Maria! Cardinal Burke gave the homily at the first Mass of the 2011 Canon Law Conference in La Crosse, WI on the feast of St Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. She was a Jew and a renowned philosopher who converted to Catholicism and became a Carmelite nun until she was deported by the Germans to Auschwitz, where she was killed in the gas chambers. She entered Carmel in 1933 just after Hitler came to power Germany. Cardinal Burke compares the ordered mind of this great Catholic Saint and Martyr against the disordered destructive thinking and actions of the Nazis and points out how a well ordered legal system exemplified by Canon Law can be a great deterrent from such disorder. This begins in a a very personal way in a well ordered love in the form of fidelity to one’s vocation whether to the married life or religious life, all patterned on the loving relationship between God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Ave Maria! This is a video of an event last March in Rome near the Vatican which we live streamed on AirMaria in Conjunction with Inside the Vatican magazine. You can see many FI sisters in the audience. Clergy from the Philippines, Nigeria, Argentina, Spain, India, and even an Anglican professor from the United States, gathered together under the shadow of St. Peter’s Basilica in March to present papers in support of a solemn declaration of a fifth Marian Dogma. The day-long conference, hosted by Inside the Vatican magazine, explored the titles of “Coredemptrix,” “Mediatrix of All Graces” and “Advocate of the People of God,” and how the Church’s definition of Mary with these titles would affect the faith of both Catholics and non-Catholics alike. Ave Maria! For the conclusion to our symposium “Mother of the Church” on Marian Coredemption in the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, La Crosse, Wisconsin on August 21, 2010, Fr. Peter Fehlner, rector of the shrine, expounds on three practical points in summary:
A short but profound to-do list to enable all of us to accomplish great things in the Church for the glory of God. Drew Mariani of Relevant Radio was MC of the symposium. Ave Maria! +++ |
Ave Maria! Here are some highlights from the Mass at our Symposium “Mother of the Church” on Marian Coredemption in the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, La Crosse, Wisconsin on August 21, 2010, including the homily by Abp. Raymond Burke, the founder of the shrine and Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura. Abp. Burke connects the heroic holiness of Pope St Pius X with the motherly protection of Our Lady. She inspired him and so he became like her and was able to love Jesus as she did and become a Good Shepherd in the footsteps of Jesus and his vicar, St. Peter. Drew Mariani of Relevant Radio was MC of the symposium. Ave Maria! +++ |

Ave Maria! In 2009 Raymond De Souza of St Gabriel Communications and Human Life International, an EWTN personality and a speaker of international renown gave a talk at our Coredemption Conference. He expounds on the Five Offenses against the Immaculate Heart as listed in the Apparition of Our Lady to the children of Fatima for which she asked reparation. He relates this to the general call to participate in the sufferings of Christ, our Redeemer, and so participate in the work of salvation in a way similar to Our Lady the Coredemptrix. This Saturday we will have a Live Broadcast of our 2010 Coredemption Conference again at La Crosse it will start at 9:45 AM and end at 6:30 PM Ave Maria! +++ |
Fr. Zuhlsdorf blogs from La Crosse, Wisconsin as he attends the Canon Law Conference and captures on video a talk by Archbishop Raymond Burke about the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe from which the conference was held. This is most appropriate because he was instrumental in starting and completing this glorious shrine and he mentions that the body of Fr. John Hardon a good friend of the bishop (who’s cause for beatification is in progress) may soon be transferred to the shrine.
But Archbishop Burke is also here for the Marian Symposium which will be two weeks from today. You can read about here with its great line up of speakers. Ave Maria! |

Ave Maria! Well we’ve been very busy here at AirMaria. However, we admit that it has not always been directly posting videos as can be seen from a sparse period in our posting when we got behind on many of our video projects. But we have completed many of the side projects that were holding us back and we’re making up for lost time as you can see by by our many videos in the past week. We have also gotten behind on fund raising and our budget is showing the strain. We are currently a few hundred dollars in the red and have several operating expenses coming up and there are several capital expenses that we need to make, including essential things like expanded storage. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
