  • pro-choice nature of the agency in that it gives women a chance to choose life when, in this pro-abortion world, pregnant women are often heavily pressured to abort their child
  • demoralizing and even traumatic nature of abortion that scars many women for life.
  • lack of safety for abortion procedure
  • lack of education about the emotional and medical dangers of abortion.
  • difficulties and joys of adoption for women with unwanted pregnancies
  • how they reach out to distressed mothers
  • procedure for giving assistance once they come to their facilities
  • how friendship is the greatest thing needed for these women even if they do make the wrong decision
  • what additional services are needed for mothers in the future
  • type of people needed for volunteers

Ave Maria!

Leticia Velasquez describes her book that she is writing on the trials and joys of being the mother of a Down Syndrome child. She covers motivations for the book, i.e. the culture against children with disabilities which she continuously runs into. She has titled the book “A Special Mother is Born” referring to herself that when her special-needs-child was born, she was reborn into a new kind of motherhood. It will consist of 24 stories of her experience both dealing with the needs of her daughter and dealing with this anti life culture. It is due out in the fall and she hopes it will give such mothers what she could not find for herself, good information about how to make the bold step to embrace this beautiful kind of motherhood. She also wants to fight against the Hitlarian eugenics culture that is obsessed with a perfect race.

Oct 01 – Homily – Fr Ignatius: St. Theresa of the Child Jesus

Homily #101001 ( 07min) Play – Today is the feast day of St Therese of Lisieux of the Child Jesus. Fr. Ignatius celebrates this in the Extraordinary Form as a votive Mass since her feast day is on the 3rd of October in the old calender. He preaches on St. Therese’s life who through the help of her very devout parents was given a very good start on the road to sanctity. He describes how even though she was an almost entirely unknown nun who died at the young age of 24 in a cloistered convent, her great sanctity was discovered by the outside world and she was Canonized as a saint, made a patron of missionaries throughout the world, declared a doctor of the Church and virtually every Catholic Church has set-up a statue of her.

Face of Pro-Life #90 – Bill O’Brien of CT Right to life with Corinn Dahm ( 30min) >>> Play

Ave Maria!

Bill O’Brien, President of Connecticut Right to Life talks about the very busy upcoming legislative session in Hartford. Mentions some pro-life legislation that they are trying to start. This includes a parental notification law for abortion for minors which CT is only one of six states that do not have one. It is easier to get an abortion in CT Schools without parental consent than it is to get Tylenol. This is very important even for the safety of the child in regard to prompt response to medical and emotional complications due to the abortion. And also important in regard to child sexual abuse being exposed. Ironically, this all points out that the Pro-abortion movement ends up being oppressive to women rather than Pro-choice.

On the defensive side he hopes to stop an education standards bill that will require all students to have comprehensive sex education (under the cover of “Health Education”) with no ability to opt out. He points out the very high rate of teen pregnancy and this after many years of sex education.

L’Enfance Du Christ–Meditations on the Hidden Life of Christ (The Holy Family)

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Lyrics–The Shepherd’s Farewell (English):

Thou must leave thy lowly dwelling,
The humble crib, the stable bare.
Babe, all mortal babes excelling,
Content our earthly lot to share.
Loving father, Loving mother,
Shelter thee with tender care!

Blessed Jesus, we implore thee
With humble love and holy fear.
In the land that lies before thee,
Forget not us who linger here!
May the shepherd’s lowly calling,
Ever to thy heart be dear!

Blest are ye beyond all measure,
Thou happy father, mother mild!
Guard ye well your heav’nly treasure,
The Prince of Peace, The Holy Child!
God go with you, God protect you,
Guide you safely through the wild!
