No Apologies #121 -  ( 06min) >>> Play

Ave Maria!

Arianism taught that Christ was not equal to the Father but was a creature made by the Father. This heresy swept through the Church in the 4th century and is the fruit of rationalizing and privately interpreting many Scripture passages.

In the story of Susanna and the Elders, and then again in the story of the woman caught in adultery, Our Lord shows how He came to bring about the triumph of His mercy.
By His justice He gives us what we deserve. By His mercy, He gives us far better than what we deserve, He gives us what we don’t deserve – He gives us life when we deserve death.

St. Bernadette of Lourdes Trailer 1

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Ave Maria!

This is a new high quality feature length movie of the life of St. Bernadette that has an interesting twist. All the actors are kids! It is professionally produced by Navis Films which is starting a whole new genre of films called “Children’s Cinema”.

Here is an excerpt from their website:

Just a very quick word about our purpose:

Western Civilization is declining, our culture is crumbling, and it will be up to our children and our children’s children to help save it. The arts comprise a hugely influential component of that culture. If we can inspire one child to take up a career in those arts, and to create stunning beauty so as to lift men’s souls toward God, and in doing so glorify Him, we will have succeeded. To that end we are creating an entirely new genre of film: Children’s Cinema. St. Bernadette of Lourdes features a cast of over 100 mostly home-schooled, Catholic children ranging from 3 to 17 years of age. We are certain that the benefits of this unique experience will extend far beyond its cast and their families. It has been my experience with our other films, and with the extremely successful Glory Stories audio series which I created with Ken Davison of Holy Heroes, that kids love hearing and watching other kids perform. I’m sure you and your kids will absolutely love this film, and the other projects we will be bringing to market within the next few months.

God bless you, and thank you for visiting Navis Pictures.

In Christ,
- Jim Morlino
President, Navis Pictures

Interestingly, some of these kids regularly come with their parents to our friary here in Griswold, CT. Enjoy…

Give me this grace of yours to serve you more faithfully. Help me in my trials. Help me to overcome my sins, my defects, and my faults, while at the same time being patient with ourselves.”

Ave Maria!

Update: Audio problem has been fixed.

The Sedevacantist professes that the Seat of Peter is now vacant. Benedict XVI  is a false pope posing as the legitimate Vicar of Christ. Their reasoning is that he, and at least 4 of  his predecessors, have taught and believe heresy, and so automatically are deposed of their office. Their error is private judgment, which when looked at reveals a foundation built upon sand.

St. David

Monday, March 1st, 2010

According to tradition, St. David was the son of King Sant of South Wales and St. Non. He was ordained a priest and later studied under St. Paulinus. Later, he was involved in missionary work and founded a number of monasteries. The monastery he founded at Menevia in Southwestern Wales was noted for extreme asceticism. David and his monks drank neither wine nor beer – only water – while putting in a full day of heavy manual labor and intense study…

Ave Maria!

Sabellianism taught that the 3 Persons in the Trinity were not distinct persons but rather 3 different modes or offices that the 1 God appeared in. Knowledge of their error is helpful in dealing with those who believe that the Bible is the sole transmitter of the Deposit of Faith. Sabellius broke from Sacred Tradition and it was this that orthodox opponents used to combat him.
