Mary was born a saint, and a great saint; for the grace with which God enriched her from the beginning was great, and the fidelity with which she immediately corresponded to it was great.
STORY

Marycast #100 ( 10min) Play – Dr. Mark Miravalle explains how the Second Vatican Council calls Mary the model of the Church in that she is both a virgin and a mother referring to the Church’s need to be totally commitment to Christ and how the Church should be fruitful in giving birth to new brothers of Church. | Ave Maria Meditations
In our present world where the embracing of intrinsic evils, which are the compromises with the devil, are becoming more and more mainstream and even mandated, a courageous voice spoke out in 1968. He was publicly denounced for this even by some high ranking clergy. Society was warned but did not heed the warning and never has human life become so cheapened and the dignity of a human being so debased. The consequences of the embracing of moral evils has yet to be fully realized. God help us.
ENCYCLICAL LETTER
HUMANAE VITAE
OF THE SUPREME PONTIFF
PAUL VI

Honored Brothers and Dear Sons,
Health and Apostolic Benediction.
The transmission of human life is a most serious role in which married people collaborate freely and responsibly with God the Creator. It has always been a source of great joy to them, even though it sometimes entails many difficulties and hardships.
The fulfillment of this duty has always posed problems to the conscience of married people, but the recent course of human society and the concomitant changes have provoked new questions. The Church cannot ignore these questions, for they concern matters intimately connected with the life and happiness of human beings.

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you,
that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing:
therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.”
There has been more than 50 MILLION abortions in the United States in the past 36 years. Such a figure is hard to fathom. And so it follows that millions of women and others have been affected by abortion which was made ‘legal’ in this country in 1973. A big lie was put forth to make it seem an answer to a problem or an unwanted pregnancy. Many have fallen for that lie. Many live with a hidden guilt. But God forgives ALL sin if the sinner seeks forgiveness! No one needs to live with the scars that abortion puts on the soul. (more…)

Ave Maria Meditations
The Grace of Christmas
Jesus speaks: I was born, born for you in a cave in December, in the cold, homeless, in the middle of a winter’s night, in the unheard-of poverty of the extremely poor, in solitude, in an abandonment unique in this world. What, my children, do I want you to learn from my birth? To believe in My love, to believe that I have loved you until now. To hope in Me, who have loved you so dearly. I want to teach you to despise the world, which was so unimportant to Me. I want to teach you poverty, lowliness, solitude, humility, penance. I want to teach you to love me, for I was not content with giving Myself to the world in the Incarnation, sanctifying it invisibly in the visitation; no, that did not satisfy My love. From the moment of My birth onward, I showed myself to you, giving myself wholly to you, putting myself in your hands. From then on, you could touch Me, hear Me, possess Me, serve Me, console Me.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
Several years ago a priest friend of mine wrote the following mediation while setting up his manger scene and I would like to share it with you:
I think you should consider the words: “For unto you ….. ” in Luke 2:11. As I was putting up my nativity set these three words sprung out at me “For unto you … ” Yes Lord how I need your holy nativity. The visitation of Elizabeth and Mother Mary confirms life is precious in God’s eyes. You and I take our assigned places in God’s providence; mine to stand and offer the sacrifice of Christ’s blood and body for the remission of our sins.
Yet look how low the Son of God stooped to make our salvation possible. A cave and a manger for the Lord of Glory to visit this sin cursed world! A cave that only allows me to bow before his presence to enter in. I held the twig twisted manger that was to be the Lord’s bed. Even poor me, divested of all this world holds dear, is welcome to kneel and adore Jesus! (more…)

Today many grandparents are raising their grandchildren. How prayers to the parents of Our Lady and the grandparents of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, are needed!
Saint Anne and Saint Joachim , Parents of Mary
Feast Day: July 26
Patronage of: Anne - of Canada, women in childbirth, Christian mothers, Joachim - of fathers
Patrons for Grandparents
Joachim and Anne were the parents of Mary and the grandparents of Jesus.
The name “Hannah” means grace. In Galilee, where she lived, Mary’s mother was probably called “Hannah” even though we know her as Saint Anne. So, if you are named “Hannah” or “Anne” you are named after the mother of Our Blessed Mother.
It was in the womb of Saint Anne that Mary was immaculately conceived. From the first instant of her life, she was in a state of grace and free from all stain of Original Sin. It was her parents, Anne and Joachim that raised her to be faithful to God’s word and remain free of sin. (more…)

Face of Pro-Life #8 – Host Corinn Dahm with Bill O’Brien and Joe Collison (29min) >>> Play |

Ave Maria!
Among the topics in this episode, Corinn and her guests give a historical overview of the Connecticut Pro-Life movement and discuss how, prior to Roe vs. Wade, this was the strongest pro-life state in the nation. In 1829, it was the first state in the country to pass a pro-life law protecting the “unborn child” (so stated in the law) from the point of quickening (approximately half-way through the pregnancy) to birth. This law was implemented in all states and augmented by the AMA (American Medical Association) in the 1850s, when scientific evidence demonstrated that the unborn child was a human being from the moment of conception.
Corinn also notes that as various states today have been successfully passing traditional marriage legislation, a similar movement was afield in the early 1970s when states were passing a wave of abortion bans, all of which were ultimately struck down by Roe vs. Wade. (May God spare us from repeating such a disaster.)
The panel also discusses the sexualizing of our third and fourth-grade children with a scandalous book written by a Planned Parenthood executive entitled “It’s Perfectly Normal”. [Note: If your child is in public schooling, be aware of what is being taught to them!!! Please get involved with their education!]
Corinn and her guests also put out a call to pro-lifers to join their local town committees, which is were politics and educational decision-making begins.
