Homily #080426 ( 12min) Play – Our Lady of Good Counsel is best known from the Litany of Loretto added by Pope Leo XIII in 1903 but for the Franciscan of the Immaculate it has special meaning because our Mother House in Frigento, Italy has this Marian title. Listen to Fr. as he explains the meaning of the Gift of Counsel as the perfector of prudence. He also explains how Our Lady is always under the influence of this Gift since She is always guided by the Holy Spirit, who is Her Spouse. Ave Maria!

Marycast Specials #1 ( 10min) Play – During the 16th World Day of the Sick on February 11, The Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI gives his strongest statement yet on the direct participation of Our Lady in the Redemption of the world at Calvary.“Mary is a model of total self-abandonment to the will of God: she received in her heart the eternal Word and she conceived it in her virginal womb; she trusted in God and, with her soul pierced by a sword (cf. Lk 2:35), she did not hesitate to share the passion of her Son, renewing on Calvary at the foot of the Cross her ‘Yes’ of the Annunciation.”

Ave Maria!
Using the Biblical verses Exodus 3:14, the Burning Bush that speaks to Moses and Luke 1:26, the Annunciation of the Angel Gabriel to Mary, John Primeau discusses with Fr. Peter Mary Fehlner, F.I. the Perpetual Virginity and Immaculate Conception of Our Lady as signs of Our Lord being sent by the Father. Fr. Peter makes the connection between the Bush that burns with the Spirit of the Lord but is not consumed and the Virginity of Our Lady that is made fruitful by the Holy Spirit while not being consumed, she remains a virgin throughout.
He also discusses the meaning of the Greek words “Chaire, Kecharitomene,” “Hail, Full of Grace,” referring to Mary’s Immaculate Conception.

Homily #6 – Fr. Peter preaches the Homily for the Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord >>> Play |
|
|
|
Ave Maria!
While Fr. Peter preaches the homily for the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, he points out that this feast is considered the continuation of the feast of the Epiphany where God the Father makes manifest His Son and this is a continuation of Christmas, which is the appearance of God on earth. He then discusses the meaning of appearance and perception and how we will one day perceive God in the beatific vision in heaven. He then points out that we will be made worthy to enter heaven through the waters of Baptism and how this is related to the pure water of Mary’s womb where Jesus first entered the world at the Annunciation. The Holy Spirit hovering over the water at both these events brings about the purity of a new creation and birth.
