Homily #150620n ( 06min) Play – Today’s gospel (from the Sermon on the Mount) reminds us to take care of our souls before our bodies. There will only be two choices in the end, God or not-God, Heaven or Hell. We need to prepare ourselves now, that is why we are here. Which will we choose?

Jun 03 – Homily – Fr Maximilian W: Take Care of Your Soul First

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015
Click to Play

Homily #150603n ( 05min) Play – Father tells us that we must not forget our souls, and we must even put the care of our souls over our bodies. Bodily death doesn’t mean the end of the soul, and whatever the soul had merited during its time on Earth, the body will experience for eternity after the general resurrection. Today we remember the martyrs of Uganda who considered their souls more important than even their lives, and refused to give into the impure demands of the king. We too must be strong, but we must find this strength in God, He will help us if only we turn to Him in our need.
Ave Maria!

May 05 – Homily – Fr Matthias: Is There an Easy Way?

Tuesday, May 5th, 2015
Click to Play

Homily #150505n ( 09min) Play – Father asks two questions: Is it necessary for us to undergo many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God? Is there no easy way? Paradoxically, he tells us, the correct answer for both of these is “Yes.” He highlights for us the “Little Way” of St. Therese, who wanted to be a saint (“want,” not “like”) but saw such a difference between the saints and herself, so she looked and found the “Little Way” of confidence where we step forward and try our best, but ultimately rely on Jesus to bring us to Himself. This is the “easy way” not because we don’t have to undergo hardship, but because we undergo them while being held in the arms of Our Lord.
Ave Maria!

Aug 10 – Homily – Fr Matthias: Will Most People Be Saved?

Sunday, August 10th, 2014
Click to Play

Homily #140810n ( 18min) Play – Father reminds us today of two fundamental dogmas of the Faith we must implant deep in our hearts. Firstly, outside of Christ, there is no salvation, and, secondly, the Church is the body of Christ, therefore, without the Church, there is no salvation. While making necessary distinctions about the invincibly ignorant, Father asks whether most people will go to heaven, he quotes the exegete Cornelius a Lapide who gives the examples of Sodom, the Flood, and the Entry into the Promised Land. Out of Sodom, only Lot and his two daughters survived. Out of the flood, only eight people survived. And out of the 600,000 Isrealites who left Egypt, only two entered the Promised Land. In our age awash with impurity and sin, let us strive to keep ourselves unsoiled and wake up to the need and our duty to evangelize and bring as many people as possible into the Catholic Church, which is the mystical Body of Christ.

Fr. Ignatius shows how Holy Mother Church reminds us in today’s readings to keep our eyes and hearts on heaven and not be consumed by the transient things of the world lest we hear the words of Our Lord “You are of this world, I am not of this world. Therefore … you shall die in your sins.”

Feb 14 – Homily – Fr George: The Faith of the Centurion

Homily #130214 ( 11min) Play

Fr. George preaches on the faith of the Centurion and warns us how easy it is to sin against faith and lose it altogether. If you reject one teaching of the Catholic Church, you lose the grace of faith altogether  The Gospel warns that those who lose faith will be “cast into the outer darkness” where there will be “weeping and gnashing of teeth”, that is, those who fall away from the Catholic Faith will go to Hell. We must pray this Lent for our perseverance and increase in faith, and for all the fallen-away Catholic who have lost their faith. After all, if we don’t, who will?
