Ave Maria!
We live streamed the Religious Liberty Rally and Debate at the State Capitol of Connecticut in Hartford today. It was a rally that was announced by FIC on short notice due to the unprecedented onslaught of anti-family legislation introduced by the Judicial Committee in the last few weeks, so the crowds were low, but even still there were over 125 people on this cold, cloudy, spring weekday. The talks were very inspirational with Peter Wolfgang of FIC, Sen Michael McLachlan, Rep. Bruce Morris, and Rev. Eric Thompson. After the rally there was a well attended debate held by the Federalist Society between Prof. Susan Schmeiser/UConn Law and Prof. Robin Wilson/Washington & Lee Law at the Capitol Building. Although the debate was not very stimulating since both debaters were largely in agreement, they did discuss the very timely issues of how to apply the Kerrigan Supreme Court Case that gave CT same-sex marriage. A very informative Day.
Listen to Peter Wolfgang of the Family Institute of CT give his synopsis of today’s events. (We are still working on improving the quality of the recording while doing live streaming, so bear with us. The audio suffered some bad distortion at first but it gets a bit better latter in the video.)
We will post some links to the other videos soon.

Ave Maria!
Our Roving Reporter caught up with the amazingly successful Pro-Life Activist, Lila Rose, at the Liaison Hotel in Downtown DC last week. In fact, Lila is so successful as a Pro-Life activist she has gained national media coverage, some of her videos exposing malpractices by Planned Parenthood have been withdrawn from YouTube, and her picture is even being displayed in some Planned Parenthood facilities warning staff about her undercover activities – all this and she is only 20 years old – wow! And to top all this off – she is currently part of an RCIA program and will soon be received into the Holy Catholic Church.

Archbishop Charles Chaput, OFM Cap., Denver
Excerpts from Archbishop Chaput’s Address to ENDOW
(Educating on the Nature and Dignity of Women) on October 17:
“Professor Kmiec argues that there are defensible motives to support Senator Obama. Speaking for myself, I do not know any proportionate reason that could outweigh more than 40 million unborn children killed by abortion and the many millions of women deeply wounded by the loss and regret abortion creates.” (more…)

+++ Roving Reporter #21 – Eva Muntean on the Walk for Life West Coast (10min) >>> Play |
|

|
Ave Maria! Back in June at the Catholic Family Conference in Anaheim, CA we ran into Eva Muntean from Ignatius Press and she gave us an interview about the Walk for Life West Coast of which she is Co-chair. This is the San Francisco version of the Washington, DC March for Life, but is more interesting because San Francisco is a much more left-wing town and so the pro-abort counter protesters are far more numerous, vociferous and . . . obscene than in DC. Despite all this, the Pro-lifers keep their dignified calm and the numbers keep growing into the tens of thousands. In this video we included many clips from past Walks for Life. See if you can tell the difference between the pro-life protesters and the pro-abortion counter protesters along the side. (Even after we cut out all their obscene gestures it is still easy to tell.) The 2008 DC March for Life will be on Tuesday, Jan 22, the San Francisco Walk for Life was held just last Saturday, Jan 19. Ave Maria!
