Nov 23 – Homily – Fr Maximilian W: Subjecting the World to Christ the King

Sunday, November 23rd, 2014
Click to Play

Homily #141123n ( 10min) Play – Father Maximilian tells us that we see in the Gospel that Christ will come and render judgement over all on the last day, but we see that judgement is rendered on how we treated Christ present in others. Father continues to emphasize that we owe Christ our full fidelity, and that we must subject the world to the Kingship of Christ, but not by politics, violence, or enthusiasm, but by prayer and acts of charity to those in need. And what is the best, quickest, and most perfect way of doing this? By going to our Queen-Mother, and she will take us to the King!

Nov 23 – Homily – Fr Elias: King who Bestows Freedom

Sunday, November 23rd, 2014

Homily #141123b ( 16min) Play – Fr. Elias reflects on the Kinship of Christ and how those who are subject to him are truly free and will find peace. His Kingdom is already established in His Church, but will be fully established when He comes again. This kingdom is based on love and the best way to show love to God is to obey his commandments, including to feed and clothe those in need as outlined today’s Gospel with the sheep and the goats where he says to the sheep, ‘whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.’

Nov 22 – Homily – Fr Elias: Purity and Martyrdom, Past and Future

Saturday, November 22nd, 2014

Homily #141122b ( 11min) Play – Fr. Elias reflects on the book of Revelation which the Church focuses on toward the end of the liturgical season because it talks about the end of time. Father combines this with a reflection on the life of St. Cecilia who was a virgin and martyr in the beginning of the Church in the midst of pagan morals and how her love for purity and music and willingness to die for the faith sends a message to us who live closer to the end times when pagan morals are returning.

Ave Maria!

The friars from Mount Saint Francis Hermitage recently erected their new 160′ radio tower for the radio station they operate out of the friary in Maine, NY, Holy Virgin Mary Radio, WHVM 91.9 FM.

The erection of the tower completed months of preparation work over the course of the summer to lay a new foundation, pour new ground anchors, and assemble the tower on the ground before lifting it into position with a 200′ crane and securing it down. This occurred on the feast of the Holy Guardian Angels, October 2. (more…)

Homily #141120n ( 04min) Play – “If this day you only knew what makes for peace” We may ask this question ourselves in our war-torn world. The answer comes at the end of the Gospel today, we do not have peace, because “you did not recognize the time of your visitation.” Do we recognize the greatest sign of Love, the Passion and Death of Our Lord? If we do and embrace the Cross of Christ in our own lives, we will find peace.
