Apr 19 – Homily – Fr Peter: In the Breaking of the Bread

Sunday, April 19th, 2015
hmly0000l

Homily #150419lss ( 11min) Play – …but the important point here is that we should listen as He says, “Woman behold thy son” – we are the children of Our Lady and who are represented by St. John the Evangelist, that is turn to the beloved disciple – and we all should be beloved disciples of Jesus. He said, “Son, behold your Mother.” – My Mother. And what did the disciple do? he took Her into his home – not simply the stone edifice but that home that is the place of our heart – the very center of our personality. Take Her as your Mother so that you can understand what it means to be brother and sister to Jesus.

Jan 17 – Homily – Fr. Ben Luedtke: Family as Small Church

Saturday, January 17th, 2015
Click to Play

Homily #150117bs ( 16min) Play – Fr. Ben Luedtke gives the second homily for the marriage retreat at the Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center which is called “Till Death do us Part, the Church and Matrimony.” He talks about the family as a small Church that reflects love between God and His whole Church and the love between Christians and should be a shining light for the whole of society since the health of society is a direct reflection of the health of the families that make it up. This is especially appropriate for today because it is the 5th Anniversary of the consecration of our chapel here in Bloomington and the readings for the Mass of the Dedication reflect these same themes.
