It also the occasion of the unveiling of our new icon for our Pro-life Shine which is Our Lady Helper in Childbirth that has an ancient tradition attached to it. Fr. Angelo preaches on how it is important to focus on the three Magi because they were coming to Christ, the source of light, from the darkness of their paganism. This display of humility (to look beyond what they were masters of) should be imitated by us modern men who are such masters of science and so move from our new paganism to find the true light.

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

Homily #101215s ( 13min) Play – The Tertiary Handmaids renew their profession tonight.  Fr Angelo speaks about how St. Francis considered himself the property of Our Lady.  St. Francis always emphasized poverty and if someone said that a house belonged to the friars, St. Francis would kick the friars out of that house.  This was not quite the same however with the St. Mary of the Angels – the friars had to stay there always – not because they owned the Church, but because Our Lady owned them.
