Homily #150920l ( 14min) Play - Fr. Peter relates the temptation of our Lord in the desert with the need to be open to the life as opposed to the culture of death. As today's Gospel reads, 'Whoever receives one child such as this in my name, receives me; and whoever receives me, receives not me but the One who sent me.' He relates this pro-family attitude to the Church and the Church to Mary. And the Church which seems as insignificant and fragile as a little child in the eyes of the unbeliever will remain through the ages. Serving the children and the childlike will lead to eternal happiness in heaven and in this life as well.
