Dec 16 – Homily – Fr Angelo: Don’t Ever Leave This Place

Views 1717

Homily #131216n ( 17min) Play - Today we celebrate the Patronal Feast of Our Lady's Chapel, Our Lady Queen of the Seraphic Order. Fr. Angelo shows how this late development in the life of the Franciscan Orders is truly at the heart of St. Francis and the Franciscan vocation of "Rebuilding the Church." This is showed most clearly by the importance of the church of St. Mary of the Angels, the Portiuncula, in the life of St. Francis—who told the friars "Don't ever leave this place"—and the origins of the Franciscan Order. May we all engage in the work of rebuilding the Church in the image of Mary, the Immaculate Conception, by consecrating ourselves to her, the Spouse of the Holy Spirit, and living out that consecration.
