PERPETUALPROFESSION F.I. – CHURCH OF S. FRANCIS IN TARQUINIA

Ave Maria! This happened over a week ago but better late than never. It is good to see Fra Philomeno, Fra Geroge and Fra Terrance, all of whom passed through Griswold for their novitiate back when AirMaria was headquartered there. Congratulations to all the new professed!

Fourteen Franciscans Friars of the Immaculate made their perpetual profession in Tarquinia last August 31, 2013. They are young people of different nationalities, from countries like Benin, Philippines, Great Britain, Italy, Nigeria, USA:

Fra Theophilus M. Toribio, Fra Peter M. Alivio, Fra Ignatius M. Sevilla, Fra Conrad M. Flores, Fra John Gerard M. Anthony Agravante, Fra Luc M. Awolo, Fra James M. Shatu, Fra Francis M. Nnama, Fra Jean M. Segbedji, Fra Philomeno James M Gilfoyle, Fra Terrence Jean M. Chartier, Fra George M. Pio Piahive, Fra Francesco M. Pio Iuliani, Fra Rosario Joseph M. Anabessa-Ebanka.

The Votive Mass of the Immaculate Heart of Mary celebrated during the profession wished to signify the close bond of the professing friars with Our Lady.  By virtue of the Marian vow, they are in fact, called to the transforming union with the Virgin Mary, in the “transubstantiation in Her” as St. Maximilian M. Kolbe said and as reiterated in the homily by the founder, Fr Stefano M. Pio Manelli who received the vows as the delegate of the Apostolic Commissioner. In imitation of the sublime model of the Immaculate and of the saints such as St. Francis of Assisi and St. Maximilian Kolbe, our most beautiful prayer for the brothers who made the final profession of vows is an ever greater love to God and to others.
