Homily #121216b ( 13min) Play - Fr. Joachim on Gaudete Sunday (Rejoice Sunday) exhorts us to rejoice for the Lord is near as we approach the great celebration of Christmas. Fr. Joachim relates this to to the many ways that Christ is present to us in all the various points in history and in or own lives, including the Old Testament as he was present in the Tabernacle of Israel and to those who lived in the time of Christ in the New testament, and finally in the Second Coming when he comes in Glory. Father focuses on how we should not only rejoice in this presence, but give thanks. This is the best way to prepare for His coming including at Mass when we receive Him in the Eucharist, which means thanks giving.
