For Corpus Christi: St. Francis’ thoughts on the Body and Blood of Our Savior

Ave Maria Meditations

“I conjure you brothers, kissing your feet and with the charity of which I am capable, to show all reverence and all honor possible to the Most Holy Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, in Whom the things that are in heaven and on earth are pacified and reconciled to the Almighty God.”

“We adore Thee most holy Lord Jesus Christ, here in all Thy Churches, which are in the whole world, because by Thy holy cross, Thou hast redeemed the world.”

“For One in such a lofty position to stoop so low is a marvel that is staggering. What sublime humility and humble sublimeness, that the Lord of the Universe, the Divine Son of God, should stoop as to hide Himself under the appearance of bread for our salvation! Behold the humble way of God, my brothers. Therefore, do not hold yourselves to be anything of yourselves, so that you may be entirely acceptable to One Who gives Himself entirely to you.”

“I beg you to show the greatest possible reverence and honor for the most holy Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom all things, whether on earth or in heaven, have been brought to peace and reconciled with Almighty God.”

Meditation of St. Francis of Assisi:
Let everyone be struck with fear, the whole world tremble, and the heavens exult
when Christ, the Son of the living God,is present on the altar in the hands of a priest!
O wonderful loftiness and stupendous dignity!
O sublime humility! O humble sublimity!
The Lord of the universe, God and the Son of God, so humbles Himself
that He hides Himself for our salvation
under and ordinary piece of bread!

See the humility of God, brothers, and pour out your hearts before Him! Humble yourselves that you may be exalted by Him!

Hold back nothing of yourselves for yourselves,
that He Who gives Himself totally to you may receive you totally!

“I believe that You, O Jesus, are in the most holy Sacrament. I love You and desire You. Come into my heart. I embrace You. Oh, never leave me.  May the burning and most sweet power of Your love, O Lord Jesus Christ, I beseech You, absorb my mind that I may die through love of Your love, Who were graciously pleased to die through love of my love.”

Our Lady found this unworthy lukewarm person and obtained for her the grace to enter the Third Order of the Franciscans of the Immaculate. May this person spend all eternity in showing her gratitude.

    Ave Maria!

Oh, brothers, I like so much to read St. Francis’ thoughts! They are extremely buring in love to God!

In my city there is a Capuchin Convent and beside the convent there is a beautiful Church where there is a beautiful statute of Saint Francis! I like going to that Church and pray there.

I admire so much Saint Francis. He is a great saint!

If you want to check out some photos of the Capuchin Convent of my city, you can see by this website:

Brothers, let me show you a video. It’s a video that shows a franciscan priest exposing the Holy Sacrament (The Holy Host) in the middle of a square in a British City called PRESTON, westerly England.

The title of the video is in portuguese, but there is no dubbing or label. The audio and all else is in English.

Vejam o que fez este padre em plena praça pública.
