Ave Maria! We hope you enjoy this concert that our friars – primarily those who are studying for the priesthood – recently performed in the town of Comacchio, Italy, at the shrine of Our Lady of the Royal Hall, or “Santa Maria in Aula Regia” in Italian. Included in the choir are Fra Pio Maximilian, Fra Alan Bernard (recently ordained to the diaconate), Fra Josemaria Mary, and our own Fra Terrance behind the camera. Ave Maria! +++ |
Ave Maria Meditations A majestic ship, representing the Church and commanded by the Pope, was defending itself amid stormy seas from an opposing fleet. Innumerable enemy ships tried to sink the Church using everything in their arsenals, including writings or books or inflammable materials.
Safe Harbor Dream of St John Bosco In the immense expanse of sea, two mighty columns of great height arise a little distance from each other. On the top of the higher and bigger column stands the Sacred Host of great size and beneath is a placard with the words: Salus Credentium – “Salvation of the faithful.” On the top of the other column was a statue of the Immaculate Virgin with a placard with this inscription: Auxilium Christianorum – “Help of Christians.” The Pope tries with all his might to steer the ship toward the two columns to anchor to them. Whenever the enemy strikes a formidable blow against the ship, a gentle breeze blows from the two columns repairing the damage to the Church. Ultimately, the Church finds safe harbor between the two Pillars: First Pillar: Devotion to Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament . |

Ave Maria! Media ignores the March for Life where an estimated 400,000 marchers attended this year!! None of the broadcast news programs from Monday evening and Tuesday morning covered the 2011 “March for Life” in Washington, DC, a pro-life rally that reportedly drew at least tens of thousands of attendees. Neither NBC, ABC, nor CBS gave any coverage Monday to the March for Life on their respective evening news programs; none of the networks covered the story Tuesday morning. The New York Times did not cover the story, as the MRC’s blog “Times Watch” documented. The Washington Post, however, did provide a fair account of the rally in its Metro section. via ABC, CBS, NBC, New York Times All Ignore March for Life | LifeNews.com. |
Marchers protest abortion rights
Pro-life supporters prayed in front of the Planned Parenthood center on South College Avenue Monday, two days after the 38th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision regarding abortion. The group — made up of area lay and ordained Catholics — started in St. Charles Catholic Church on the east side of the IU campus at about 11 a.m. and marched down Third Street. Ave Maria Meditations
Almighty and ever-living God, I approach the sacrament of your only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. I come sick to the doctor of life, unclean to the fountain of mercy, blind to the radiance of eternal light, and poor and needy to the Lord of heaven and earth. Lord, in your great generosity, heal my sickness, wash away my defilement, enlighten my blindness, enrich my poverty, and clothe my nakedness. May I receive the bread of angels, the King of kings and Lord of lords, with humble reverence, with the purity and faith, the repentance and love, and the determined purpose that will help to bring me to salvation. May I receive the sacrament of the Lord’s Body and Blood, and its reality and power. Kind God, may I receive the Body of your only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, born from the womb of the Virgin Mary, and so be received into His mystical Body and numbered among his members. Loving Father, as on my earthly pilgrimage I now receive your beloved Son, under the veil of a sacrament, may I one day see Him Face to face in glory, who lives and reigns with You forever. Amen. Virgin full of goodness, Mother of mercy, I entrust to you my body and my soul, my thoughts and my actions, my life and my death. O my Queen, come to my aid and deliver me from the snares of the devil. Obtain for me the grace of loving my Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, with a true and perfect love, and after Him, O Mary, of loving you with all my heart and above all things. Amen. |

Well, not totally lost. I am just reading most of the time that I don’t have other duties to which I must attend. I hope to soon have a post on an interesting aspect of the occult pertaining to the difference between Christian mysticism and neopagan, magical consciousness. The attraction of “alternative religion,” is that it promises “supernatural” or transcendent consciousness, the experience of unity, integration and joy without dogma. It is a big temptation. Please pray that I get this book on Harry Potter and the occult done soon. I am uploading here a very cogent list of 10 non-religious reasons why same-sex marriage should not be legalized for your consideration. (I am not the author of the list. I neglected to mention this. The author is anonymous.) BTW, did you know that 85% of all abortions, according to Planned Parenthood research arm, the Guttmacher Institute, are obtained by unmarried women. My understanding is that the latest statistic has it up to 87%, but I have not been able to verify that. Either way, it is a tremendous statistic. The erosion of marriage is directly related to the incidence of abortion, and the elimination of children from the culture of marriage is obliterating the most fundamental social institution of our race. If we want to stop abortion we have to address the problem with marriage.
