Ave Maria!
The Knights of Holy Mary Victrix at Lepanto is a specific group for men only within the Mission of the Immaculate Mediatrix (MIM). The MIM is the Roman Catholic public association of the faithful, founded by Fr. Stefano M. Manelli and attached to the religious institute that he also founded, the Franciscans of the Immaculate The spirituality of the MIM is unlimited consecration to Mary according to the teaching of St. Maximilian Mary Kolbe. Thus, the Knights of Lepanto is a group of men who are formed to live consecration to Mary in a masculine way.

“In the name of Christ, I refuse to be anti-gay. I refuse to be anti-feminist. I refuse to be anti-artificial birth control,” the author wrote Wednesday on her Facebook page. “In the name of … Christ, I quit Christianity and being Christian. Amen.”
Rice will not be taking up vampires again, but she said she is a big fan of the HBO series “True Blood,” enjoyed the first two “Twilight” movies (she has yet to read any of the Stephenie Meyer novels) and is interested in seeing her most famous character, the vampire Lestat de Lioncourt, return to the screen.
In spite of the above story’s emphasis on Rice’s non-return to vampire novels, Rice is, it seems, reverting to the back to the state of the undead. (more…)

MaryCast Specials #84 ( 09min) Play – In this set of three episodes Dr. Mark Miravalle promotes the importance of the apparition site of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City which paved the way to one of the greatest evangelical periods in the Church when over nine million people converted to the faith in less than a decade. In this segment Dr. Mirvalle describes the interesting human interactions between Our Lady, Juan Diego and Bishop Zumarraga and the gradual awareness of Juan Diego and the bishop of the supernatural nature of the events and their meaning for today.

Ave Maria Meditations encore
St. Leopoldo Mandic is known as an Apostle of the Confessional and also as an Apostle of Unity. Feast Day is July 30th.

SAINT OF THE CONFESSIONAL
To be a good confessor one must first of all gain the confidence of the penitent. In this Fr. Leopoldo succeeded wonderfully. His very person, so small as to be scarcely visible in the semi-darkness of cell, his features calm and radiating kindness, his eyes full of serenity, his measured and paternal gestures, all combined to awake confidence from all who approached. Often he would get up and go to meet the penitent as if he were greeting an old and expected friend.
Nothing he did or said could in any way humiliate the visitor and cause him to close his heart. He paid attention to everything, knowing that confidence is built on a variety of imponderables which may often appear insignificant. So much skill and so much virtue naturally disposed the penitent to listen with a receptive mind to the instruction and exhortations which followed. What he said was not just a routine affair, the same for everyone; he said what was needed by each individual soul in a manner easily understood by the person in question, using dialect and popular phrases if they would help. This was a point he considered very important. (more…)

This week-long event was organized by SCENE (Sydney Congress Embracing the New Evangelisation) and was designed to keep the fire of the Faith, kindled at WYD 2008, burning brightly in the hearts of the youth.
Events included talks by bishops and visiting priests, seminars and actual street evangelization, Holy Mass, adoration, vocations expo, and entertainment nights. Footage taken at SCENE 2009 can be seen here.
This video shows the location of the vocation expo as well as some footage of St. Mary’s Cathedral and centers around a train ride into the city center one day while a young fellow-participant plays the guitar.
