Ave Maria Meditations

And Elizabeth cried out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. And whence is this to me, that the Mother of my Lord should come to me?”
Enlightened interiorly by the Holy Spirit, Elizabeth recognized her young cousin as the Mother of God, and deeply moved, breaks forth into words of praise and admiration. Mary makes no protest but listens with simplicity, knowing well that this praise is not due to her, but solely to the Almighty, who has done great things in her. Immediately her humble heart by a spontaneous movement, refers all Elizabeth’s praises to God. “My soul doth magnify the Lord!” (more…)

Homily #100530 ( 26min) Play – For Holy Trinity Sunday and the closing Mass for the Knights of Lepanto Father-Son Encampment, Fr Angelo preaches on how the Trinity is three Persons and yet united as if it where and Army, working as one for the salvation of all men. He stresses the need to acknowledge that the Second Person of the Trinity became man to win our salvation and so enable the Holy Trinity to dwell within us. Our hearts then become the divine fortress of the Trinity and this forms the base to sally forth and practice the virtues, especially charity.

O predestinate souls, slaves of Jesus in Mary, learn that the Hail Mary is the most beautiful of all prayers after the Our Father. It is the most perfect compliment which you can give to Mary, because it is the compliment which the Most High sent her by an archangel in order to win her heart; and it was so powerful over her heart by the secret charms of which it is so full, that in spite of her profound humility she gave her consent to the Incarnation of the Word. It is by this compliment also that you will infallibly win her heart, if you say it as you ought.
The Hail Mary well said, that is with attention, devotion, and modesty is, according to the saints, the enemy of the devil which puts him to flight, (more…)

Homily #100528 ( 04min) Play – God is infinitely merciful to the repentant sinner and the one who is not truly sorry is not able to receive the blessing of God. Each day is one day closer to our death, and when that moment comes, how fast it comes.

Ave Maria!
Brought to you by the Foundation of Our Lady of All Nations.
We may look back on a very successful day of prayer in honor of the Lady of All Nations, which during the day 1300 people participated.
On this bright sunny day of Pentecost the prayer day began at 1 p.m. at the Beurs van Berlage and opened with the Rosary. The program consisted of several lectures, including Father John (CSJ), who spoke on Mary as Coredemptrix.
The Burundian choir was performed with great enthusiasm by dancing and loud drumming. (more…)

Ave Maria Meditations

| |
| |
| Prayer To Mary:
Gentle Mother of God, full of grace, the Door of Heaven that is always open, through you may the eyes of God rest upon us.
In your goodness, help the needy; to those who hesitate, to the little ones, grant your assistance. Comfort the weak, protect the poor, walk with the abandoned. May the persecuted find in you consolation, and the persecutors, conversion and forgiveness. Have mercy on all prisoners; spare them of all despondency of soul and sadness of heart.
Pray for all people; intercede for the bishops and priests, and for all consecrated souls. May all those who celebrate your memory rejoice in receiving your assistance. Lend an attentive ear to the prayers of all those who beseech you, and grant them the favor they seek.
Support by your constant intercession the holy people of God. Consecrate them in unity and in truth.
May we finally experience, Blessed Mother, the joy which flows from you, who was chosen to bear the price of mankind, Jesus Christ, Our Lord and God forever. Amen. Alleluia. |

Homily #100524 ( 08min) Play – On this Monday of the Octave of Pentecost Fr. Ignatius preaches on the true and most important fruits of the Holy Spirit. He compares thes with mere, natural enthusiasm and the lesser, charismatic gifts. The best way to discern this is to look at Mary, Spouse of the Holy Spirit, at the foot of the Cross where she displayed heroic virtue. He further describes how to be disposed to the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
