“Reflecting on the incredible devotion of Saint Francis for the most blessed Mother of God, we desire to remind the sons of so great a Father of this passage of Thomas of Celano: To her he paid special praises, poured out prayers, offered his affection, in such number and kind that tongue of man cannot recount. But what is cause for joy, he made her Advocate of his Order, and for their growth and protection placed the sons he was about to leave under her wings.”
