Obedience is the key to all authentic apparitions. I have to question why it is that the community with which this seer was affiliated acted contrary in flagrant disobedience to the orders of the Church when they were instructed to destroy the statute. Not to mention that this purported visionary left the convent (abandoning) her vocation. Where are the fruits in this?

“Very negative media articles together with sham ” Holy Rose Petals ” dealers, caused Teresita to leave the convent in the 1950’s. This, together with the Church’s negative report, kept these apparitions hidden for some 40 years.” One must ask oneself, how is it that these rose petals became known to the general public and if the “Holy Rose Petal” dealers were a hardship for her, shouldn’t this visionary have accepted such sufferings as the cross she was called to carry?

“There was much commotion, and the Bishop and Mother Prioress were released of their jobs. The nuns were ordered to destroy all materials connected with the apparitions. They burned Teresita’s diary, as well as the Mother Prioress’. The statue was also ordered to be destroyed, but the nuns kept it away, and saved it from destruction.”

I find it disturbing that Dr. Miravalee would resort to promoting these apparitions as he has been doing on your website. We have the teachings of the magesterium, sacred scripture, the authority of the Church, the Sacraments and the Priesthood. Do the faithful need more than such?

I love all the articles the friars post on Airmaria and I look forward to daily updates, however, I do find it disturbing that you allow Dr. Miravalee to promote visionaries and seers! This is so very unlike all that I thought the friars stood for.

Thank you, Rachel, for your comment.

Yes, Dr. Mark Miravalle is more focused on apparitions than the FIs are. However we are not opposed to private revelations either. Private revelations are a fact of the Catholic life, Fatima, Lourdes, etc. This is so even though (as you have pointed out) the Lord has already given the Public Revelation. Dr Miravalle’s mentioning of particular apparitions and defense thereof is strictly limited to the promotion of the Coredemption which is consistent with his stated goals for the series and ours.

In regard to the different cases of disobedience these were done by the nuns not the seer, and even there, they obeyed most of what was ordered, certainly keeping anything associated with the apparition from public eye.

If I recall correctly from the video there were other issues that were effecting her vocation, namely very bad health and she was a novice so she was not breaking a vow by leaving. Nor is there any indication that she was being disobedient to a spiritual director when she left. Even if she were wrong in leaving, there were many problems with the La Sallette visionaries as well, but this did not nullify the authenticity of that apparition.

At any rate, the bishops of the Philippines are more competent than you or I in these matters and work much closer to the Vatican as well. We must assume they have analyzed the case carefully and decided that the apparition has withstood the test of time.

    God bless,

    Fra Roderic
