Ave Maria!– April’s Theme: Vices “The way traced out by the apostle Paul to the Christian is to strip himself of the vices of the old man, that is, of the earthly man, and to clothe himself with the virtues taught by Jesus Christ. With regards to stripping oneself of the vices he says: ‘Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth’. The Christian, sanctified by Baptism, is not exempt from the rebellion of the senses and of the passions; hence the impelling need to mortify our passions, as long as one lives.” |
