Ave Maria!– April’s Theme: Obedience “The greater the sacrifice made of oneself, of one’s own inclinations, of one’s own intelligence, of one’s own preferences because of obedience, that much greater is the love shown towards God.” (cf. SK #329) |
Ave Maria! We have often heard the cliche, “Sticks and stones will break your bones but words will never hurt you.” However, we know by experience that words can be very provocative especially when they concern our convictions and beliefs. This is particularly true when it regards faith and morals according to the teachings of the Church, anything opposing Catholic doctrine becomes “fighting words”. Listen to how Fr. Angelo explains how we must defend our Faith with a Chivalrous spirit! Ave Maria! |

Ave Maria!– April’s Theme: Obedience “With how much displeasure and remorse will a friar, on his deathbed, remember those superiors whom he perhaps liked the most because they were more ‘indulgent’, more ‘understanding’, ‘kinder’, ‘nicer’, for having given in to his own will and thereby permitted him to lose the infinite graces, blessings and divine sweetness that the Lord grants only to generous souls, who are ready to renounce, even immediately, the things that are most dear to them, that are most reasonable and sublime to them, when obedience required an entirely different thing, that is to say, when God Himself indicated to them a different path.” (cf. SK #329) |
Ave Maria! The Roving Reporter interviews Norma McCorvey, who is best know for her pseudonym “Jane Roe” in the landmark Roe vs. Wade lawsuit in 1973. Ave Maria!– April’s Theme: Obedience “What serenity and sweetness will the heart of the religious be filled with at the end of his life upon knowing that in all things he will have paid heed only and exclusively to the will of God, to the will of the Immaculate, by means of holy obedience! How he will bless those superiors who will have broken, without pity, his own will and who will have, in a certain sense, constrained him to walk solely along the way of blind obedience.” (cf. SK #329) |

Ave Maria!– April’s Theme: Obedience “How much peace and authentic joy is experienced by the soul of a religious upon knowing with certainty that he is accomplishing the will of God, that he is, with certainty, an instrument in the hands of the Immaculate. A religious who is convinced of this fact has absolutely no trust in his own intelligence, he doesn’t seek anything of his own will except for God and His holy will; he is not attached to his work, to any particular place or even to any pious practices, but only and exclusively to the Divine Will, to God through the Immaculate.” (cf. SK #329) |
