Ave Maria!
“Prayer is an unknown means and, nevertheless, it is the most efficacious to reestablish peace in souls, to give them happiness, because it serves to draw them closer to the love of God. Prayer makes the world be born anew. Prayer is the indispensable condition for the regeneration and life of every soul.” (SK #903)

Ave Maria!
“Grace is the source of conversion and sanctification. We obtain grace by prayer; from this (prayer) and from sacrifice depends the fruit of our work. Let yourself be led in serenity and trust towards the Divine Mercy through the Immaculate.” (SK #970)

Fr. Peter gives the last presentation at the?Behold Your Mother Marian Conference receiving a standing ovation.? The title of his talk is Mariae Advocatae Causa: The Marian Issue in the Church Today.?He discusses with his usual exuberance why the Marian titles of Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate are central to the Church today. Come listen as Fr. Peter connects these doctrines to a wide number of concerns for the Church.

Ave Maria!
In a third installment on Plan B in Connecticut Fr. Peter answers comments from his two previous posts:
Father Peter Damian Fehlner, S.T.D. Weighs in on Plan B in Connecticut?and the Continuation?and he also adds some more thoughts.
LifeSiteNews?has linked to these articles with some interesting insight as has Mark Shea.
Fr. Peter writes:
I am quite in agreement with Timothy O??Rourke concerning the gross misuse of probabilism to justify administration of Plan B, or the “morning after” pill in cases of rape. In matters involving justice, life and death issues and salvation, one must always?act on the side of caution, viz., adopt the position which is not merely probable, but which is the safer of all possibilities. The reason is that in not placing clear and strict limits on the use of probabilism to resolve a doubtful conscience, one quite quickly becomes a moral relativist, able to find exceptions to the most absolute of divine commands, in particular those concerning the giving and taking of life.

Ave Maria!
“Holy Communion is our nourishment. Just one Holy Communion is enough to make us saints. It all depends on our interior dispositions, our life of prayer, our preparation. In fact, half the day should be dedicated to the preparation, while the other half to thanksgiving.” (SK #968)

Ave Maria!
“One needs to recite the “Officium divinum” digne, attente, devote. One verse alone can convert a soul. A protestant converted after only browsing through a breviary. The Divine Office and the Holy Mass, celebrated well, may renew an entire diocese.” ( SK #968)

Ave Maria!
Here is the first of the segments from the Panel Discussion of the Behold Your Mother Marian Conference with Fr. Peter Fehlner, Scott Hahn, Mark Miravalle, Raymond de Souza and with Dana Scallon as the MC. This is a direct recording of the live feed. We intended to put all the conference up in this fashion but due to the computer crash half way through Scott Hahn’s presentation we lost most of the presentations. The first Question and Answer is hard to follow because of audio problems but these get resolved?quickly and the speakers handle all this so gracefully.

The Cornerstone #30 – Fr. Maximilian Explains the Unique Role of Mary in God’s plan (8min) >>> Play |
|
|
|
Ave Maria!
Continuing on the theme of Christ’s mediation of grace, Fr. Maximilian reflects on how Christ allows us to participate in His mediation. We are all actors or players on the stage of life, and, to borrow somewhat from Shakespeare, we each have a part to play in God’s plan. Do some participate more fully in God’s plan than others? Do all the children of God have an equal share in His mediation of grace? Listen now as Father Maximilian explains the uniqueness of Mary and her place on center stage.

This is a response to comments on the article I posted on October 9th titled, Father Peter Damian Fehlner, S.T.D. Weighs in on Plan B in Connecticut?about the recent statement of the Connecticut Bishops on what is euphemistically and equivocally termed “emergency contraception”. I am grateful for the positive and insightful comments I received especially from Duane, who is at one with me in questioning, like Fr. Euteneur, the wisdom of this statement, and in maintaining that the pill prescribed in Plan B prevents conception via an abortion.
But Duane disagrees with me on several points. Since these are points commonly held by many well meaning Catholics and even theologians I will take his comment as an opportunity to bring this discussion to the next level.?

Ave Maria!
“Everywhere you go conduct yourself as if you were in the presence of God, because He is always beside you. Not only interiorly, but also exteriorly (not how it is most comfortable for you). And do this everywhere: in church, in your cell, on the street, etc.; in every position: while you are kneeling, sitting, standing, or walking.” (SK #963)

From Ave Maria Meditations
by JosephMary
Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam
To the Greater Glory of God

Prayer: Father, you consecrated the first beginnings of the faith in North America by preaching and martyrdom of Saints John & Isaac and their companions. By the help of their prayers may the Christian faith continue to grow throughout the world. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Ave Maria!
“In times of interior desolation don’t make new resolutions, be more faithful to those already undertaken, pray more if possible and mortify yourself. Remember that this situation will pass and acknowledge your weakness. In times of consolation consider that afterwards obscurity will follow and take a more firm resolve in what you have promised.” (SK #963)

Ave Maria!
“The most important thing in confession is sorrow for sin. This depends solely on the will. Even if there is absolutely no sensible sorrow, the sorrow of the will is sufficient and even wipes away mortal sins??In the same way, also the practices of piety, meditation, etc., depend solely on the will, although the sentiments may also be of help; when one is in aridity, therefore, there is no need to lose peace of heart, because joy is a valuable aid to progress.” (SK #963)
