Ave Maria!
“In order to push same-sex marriage, you have to deny that children do best in a home with both a mother & a father.” On this episode, Corinn talks with Peter Wolfgang, Director of Public Policy for the Family Institute of Connecticut, on this mission of the FIC and their current battle against same-sex marriage. Mentioned in the discussion is how the same-sex marriage agenda is fueling attacks on religious liberties in Boston, Minnesota, England, Canada, & Sweden, & how it’s effecting what are children are being taught in school. “Children are not mere creatures of the state,” was the decision passed down in a famous 1920s Supreme Court case (Pierce vs. Society of Sisters), & yet Peter explains how in the Boston school system today, the Constitution & parental rights are being subverted in the name of teaching our children sexual immorality. Such is always the case when “the State” deifies itself & vilifies Christ & His followers.

Ave Maria!
The Church is the vine God has planted into the world, & we as believers will be pleasing to God to the extent that we remain attached & faithful to the Church. Satan has a vine as well; his vine is the mass media, which eagerly spreads the message of godlessness, pleasure-seeking,& contempt for Christ throughout the whole world. We as Catholics need to wake up to this reality: either one thinks with the mind of Christ, or one inevitably & invariably will think with the mind of Satan. Please hear Fr. Elias’ powerful message of truth in today’s homily.

Ave Maria!
Today’s Gospel offers a wonderful meditation on the role of the Catholic Church in the world. The Church casts its net to catch souls, yet without Christ’s grace & guidance it can do nothing. Christ is the only hope of the world, & the Church is His only vehicle for salvation. Fr. Elias further reflects on St. Augustine’s two-fold commentary of Christ at one time fishing in the boat with the disciples & here standing on the shore guiding, as it were, their mission for food & for souls.

The Cornerstone #4 – St. Thomas Aquinas himself shows the plausibility and even probability that if man had not sinned, there would have been the Incarnation. >>> Play |

Ave Maria!
Did you know that two of St. Thomas Aquinas’ most illustrious professors at the University of Paris, Fr. Alexander of Hales, OFM, and St. Albert the Great, OP, held what has come to be known as the Franciscan position regarding the Incarnation? Perhaps this explains why St. Thomas had such great respect for the position that Bl. John Duns Scotus would take up and defend so ardently some 40 years later. In this episode Fr. Maximilian demonstrates from the writings of Aquinas that the position of Scotus on the absolute primacy of Christ is possible and even probable, even though St. Thomas held the opposite opinion to be more probable.

Ave Maria!
St. Conrad of Parzham, Germany (1818-1894), was a simple porter for the Capuchin friars & a devotee to the Immaculate. Fr. Bonaventure says that to be an authentic Christian, one must take Mary as his Mother, & St. Conrad was certainly a witness to this. As Fr. Corapi plainly states, “If she’s good enough for Jesus, she’s good enough for us.?? Listen now to Father’s reflection on this saint & on the saintly life of the Mother of all mothers. Strength in numbers will not overcome the evil of the world; faithfulness to the Catholic Church will. Today’s gospel shows that fallen humanity must indeed be fed by Jesus Christ & no other. “There are no half-way houses in this world: one is either on their way to the Catholic Church or on their way to hell,?? were the words of John Cardinal Newman. Fr. Bonaventure shares this frank & encouraging message with us in today’s homily.

Elias explains how this error is routed in Satan’s dislike for humanity and is quite similar to the Nazi’s who confused humans with animals.

??The virtue of purity is a witness to the supernatural,?? & the witness of this virtue is one of the greatest causes of martyrdom in the history of the Church, past & present. Every vice, every unchastity known to human history is promoted today, & because of this it is impossible for the unbaptized to see the supernatural as a motive for virtue. Let’s listen to Fr. Bonaventure’s probing homily & let’s contribute to the salvation of souls by sanctifying our thoughts, words, & everyday actions. [Click here for today's readings.]

“We’re fighting the abortion war by proxy,” says Peter Wolfgang in regards to the news of the day items on this episode. Corinn, Peter, & Joe discuss how young girls are donating their eggs for profit, all-the-while being ignorant of the risks of such a procedure, which include paralysis, limb amputation, & death. The push for human cloning & the media’s shifting the culture of life debate from abortion to “stem cells” is also discussed. The media purposefully clouds the stem cell issue by making no distinction between moral (adult) stem cell research & immoral (embryonic) stem cell research, & it ignores the reality of the success-rate of adult stem cells. Listen now to this engaging discussion with three knowledgeable & eloquent speakers who’s mission is to defend truth & life.

|
Ave Maria!
Fr. Angelo tells it as it is in regard to the movie “The Secret?? that was produced last year by Prime Time Productions and Rhonda Byrne. He explains how the secret is hardly a secret but is rather age-old, common-place positive thinking, taken to such an extreme that real dangers are ignored. Further, it is a very self-centered, materialistic outlook, and the movie uses shameful, Dan Brown marketing techniques to exploit those suffering from insecurities. Watch Fr. Angelo’s video as he explains that real “positive thinking?? is to stand fast with Christ and Our Lady.

When we reject Christ, does it mean that we simply stop attending church services? What are the consequences of making ourselves gods? In this episode of Spirit, Faith, & Family, guest Raymond deSouza discusses the nature of good and evil, the rise of Satanism in our modern times, & the need for Catholics to put on the “armor of God?? as described by the apostle Paul. Raymond expounds on the fact that evil is not the product of a lack of education or merely the absence of good: evil is a spirit who is perverted & who perverts, & whos proper name is Satan. As the Devil knows, “The best way to crush an enemy is not to beat him on the battlefield, but to remove from him the will to fight.?? Listen now to Raymond as he explains to us the nature of our battle & the tools we must use to fight.

Today’s Gospel continues the narrative of Nicodemus’ night encounter with Christ, & Fr. Bonaventure continues to discuss the significance of Christ’s teaching in light of the fall of our first parents. What the devil promised Adam & Eve is precisely what they lost by obeying him, & so it fell on the shoulders of Christ to restore us & make us once again children of His heavenly Father.
